Jhujenn: CONGRATULATIONS on baby #2!!!!! Crossing my fingers for a healthy baby.

Thanks! Those are the two we have agreed on! :)

And I would like to echo the congratulations to Jhuhenn! Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy!

Thanks guys. I really wasn't looking for the congrats I just like sharing baby stuff. I'm pretty sure we will be fine. It's basically the home stretch now since I'm due August 17th. The doctor keeps telling me labor is going to go much quicker this time. I'm really not looking for another 22 hour ordeal.

May I add Adrienna? :)

texas*princess 04-25-2005 10:44 PM

my mom's side of the family has this thing with "ette"s... so I def. plan on carrying on the tradition if I ever have any girls.

For girls I like:

Violet
Charlotte (a little too sex & the city? but very cute)
Juliet

For boys I like

Aiden ( a little too sex & the city? but still very cute ;))
Will (gotta love Orlando Bloom in Pirates of the Caribbean ;))
Greg (not sure why.. but I've always liked Greg)

HaHaHa

Our two children will be named:
Leah Anne
or
Leah Elizabeth
or
Leah Grace
or
Leah Catherine
or
Leah Emily

and
Noah Samuel
Obviously we haven't decided on a middle name for a girl yet!
Our last name starts with a W... so I don't know if I should be using a vowel for a middle name that might make a word: LAW, or LEW.
What do you girls think?

Sometimes it's nice to be able to use the initials as a "nickname" in a sense (now, in the L_W example, it wouldn't really be a nickname, would it? ;)) but as long as it doesn't spell anything obscene (which I know you would never do, adpi*nurse!) it should be okay, right?

(Can you tell I have a nickname using my initials as a word? :D)

I've always heard that it's good luck to have one's initials spell a word. It's one of the twists I've been considering with a last name starting with "E".

My second daughter's initials were MAB (Maridith Ann Backstrom) and she fit that personality (Mab = queen of the faeries)

Now she is a MAM and that drives her nuts ;). Her brother said since she got married she is all "grownupy". What a change :)

WLFEO 04-26-2005 10:37 AM

Well, the one I liked the most for a boy is

FENWAY

since our family is made up of Red Sox Fans (not to insult anyone's intelligence, but just in case you don't know, Fenway is the name of the stadium where the Red Sox play).

For girls, I like a lot of the same names as ASUADPi'
Daphne
Phoebe
and also Violet, of course!

You know, I could really go for Sophronia, if I could talk mr. honeychile into it. He likes "normal" names, and I like "unusual" names. I also like the southern tradition of using last names as middle names.

BBelleADPi 04-26-2005 12:18 PM

Responding to previous posts:
My daughter has a good friend named Cadence! (Cadence Reniece)

My cocker spaniel's name is Noah.

One of my sorority sister's name was Forest-she was beautiful-won Miss Derby Day in 1970.

I wanted to name my first daugher Sydney back in 88-way before Alias and OJ Simpson's daughter in the news.

Greg is a great all time boy name.

My husband got out of any girl name he didn't like by telling me he used to date someone by that name. Took me a while to figure it out....

Names I love:

Mary Bay

Lucy Banks
(both actual names of girls in this area. I think the middle name is the mother's maiden name, or at least a family name)

Bella

BBelleADPi 04-26-2005 12:24 PM

I didn't put the girls names that I love the most-my daughter's names-

Mary Claire, and yes, she is called by both names-this is the South!

Lesley Elisabeth-from China, her birth name is Lele Gau.

You guys have wonderful threads! We're trying to adopt a sib group and may I pleeeaassse intrude while I share my dream names?

I like Chessa, Rose, Polly, and Piper. All with C middle names like the rest of our girls....we didn't do that on purpose but it kind of developed. My younger daughters, though, have always hoped that if we adopted sisters we'd name them after Disney Princesses like Jasmine and Ariel. I told them maybe those but no Mulans or Tinkerbells.

adpi*violet 04-26-2005 02:44 PM

Let's see... Disney Princesses:
Snow White
Cinderella (Ella?)
Sleeping Beauty (Aurora)
Belle
Jasmine
Ariel
Mulan
Pocahontas

Ella, Aurora, Jasmine and Ariel are your best bets Carnation.
I can't believe you're adding to the "Carnation Nation" again!
