Congratulations on the new job!

United is a great airline to work for--you'll have to hop over to Atlanta sometime!

AlphaSigOU 04-10-2005 04:56 PM

Congrats, Sandy! You going to be a flight attendant or in another job at UAL? Not specified in the thread.

Flight benefits are great, but for the price you pay (next to nothing except for taxes), no one can complain. Beware of very busy travel periods, because traveling on standby can be a pain in the ass!

<-- fan of UAL's audio channel 9 (air-to-ground communications, turned on at the captain's discretion... most don't mind.)

Congrats on the J-O-B Sandy!
Hmmm wanna party in Seattle or Vancouver?

Congrats and welcome to the airline family!

<---------------------Dad was a captain for American, lol. Lots of airline families on here.

I too like Channel 9 on United. Its funny listening to air traffic controll and the pilots occasionally be smart asses. Yeah, they are super professional, but funny too.

Of course it can be scary. I can remember a flight from Denver to Newark af few years back and we were waiting on the tarmac and so I flipped on the channel 9 to find our whats going on. Apparently, all the screens in the cockpit went black. The rebooted the system and we were off.
