That's it? Damn, I thought you'd have a lot more to say than that dogg....... By the way, ever hear the Fob version of many of our favorite rap hits, like the pinoy version of the Ruff Ryders anthem? Pure comedy |
If most of you simple-minded mofos stopped listening to the radio and watching videos on mtv, vh1 and bet, yall wouldn't have much of a problem with the RAP music of today.

Dude, you remember that song "whoe just go" or "whore just go", I got head some many times in highschool while playing that song. Hahaha!! I remember this girl named Jenny Lang :D I always called her "dirty tang" She must have given me head while I was playing that song at least 20 times. I remember after our district championship in baseball my junior year, that was the first time I'd ever had deep-throat head...and it was all thanks to "Jam Pony Express....and the legend continues" :D :D |
I used to like 90s rap with M.C. Hammer and 2pac and Will Smith, but I don't like most rap music now. Many of them degrade women and minorities. Same can be said for rap music videos. I sorry, but most rap today is awful. The only people I like from rap are Missy Elliot and Will Smith and Ludacris. At least they keep things respectful.
When I have children, I won't let them listen to rap, because many of the songs set bad example. Now, if it's Christian rap, I'll let them listen to it. |
Not to berate you, and yes, hip-hop is VERY mysoginistic, but I'm hoping most people don't think hip-hop is the ONLY musical genre that berates women.
I was just reminded of the airhead sorority girl who blamed every man saying the words "bitch" and "slut" solely on hip-hop. And besides, it's not like women were portrayed in such a COMPLETELY positive light back in the day either. For every "I Need Love" and "Very Special" you had "Pimpin Aint Easy" and "I Get Around". I Get Around was on the same album as Keep your Head Up, so where do you draw the line? Quote:

I hope you're kidding, about every bit of this. And . . . Missy Elliott and Ludacris? God. Listen to more music. |

I would definately not say that the WHOLE reason women are refered to as bitches and hoes is because of hip-hop, but I would definately say that it has SOMETHING to do with it. There is no doubt about it in my mind.
I would guess that the girl who originally said that wasn't trying to place the blame only on hip-hop either. But I wasn't there so I could be wrong. I think most of today's rap music is terrible. I am disgusted by 50-cent and won't listen to him anymore. I do think that musicians as popular as rap artists are should stop and think about the effect that they are having on today's youth. They might want to pretend that kids don't try to emmulate them, but they truly do. And glorifying money and drugs, and disrespecting women is not a good model to show these kids. And almost certainly someone will come up with the arguement of "if parents don't want their kids to listen to rap, then they shouldn't let them." Personally, I think that arguement is crap. My parents were very strict when I was growing up and wouldn't let me listen to rap.... But I still found ways to do it. Kids will find a way. |

Rap music is everywhere. Somehow, somewhere, kids will listen to it. We can't monitor our children 24/7, but parents need to do their jobs. When I get to be a parent, I will raise my child(ren) the right way. I may be liberal in political views, but I will raise my child(ren) with strong, conservative, Christian family values. Now I will not raise them to be Republicans, just act conservative. |
