If I didn't have to work, study, go to class, I could get a good exercise routine down. I'm doing good on my eating, but half my calories are probably from beer or other alcohol. |
I'm training for a half-marathon, so I'm pretty much running my a$$ off. Combine that with yoga, pilates, and some strength training, I should be pretty good come summer time! And I have been monitoring my food and portion sizes, so I'm listening to my body to telling me when I'm full. So far, so good.

I was 245 lbs, probably 25+% body fat in December 2002 and only 5'11". I was in a long term relationship so I ended up picking up some extra weight. I slowly lost weight to get down to 225 in August 2003, my ex and I started not hanging around each other as much, but were still friends (weren't seeing anyone else either) and I lost another 10 lbs by December 2003.
That's when the ex started dating someone else and I wanted to get her back, but it didn't work out by January 2004 I had dropped down to 200lbs 21% body fat (all this weight loss was just but not eating as much bad food, but I wasn't working out). I then started to work out in April 2004& in 4 months of working out routinely I was down to 175lbs and 11-12% body fat in August. I was picking chicks up all summer too, which was great since I grew up as the chubby kid anyway. I then proceeded to pick up a lot of extra weight over the fall semester so right now I'm 190 lbs, 18-19% body fat. The point of my long story is that this year I'm starting out in better shape than last year so as long as I don't let myself go back to chubbiness I should be ripped up and in great shape for this summer as I've been lifting weights 3 days a week, concentrating on arms, chest& back 2 days and shoulders, abs& legs 1 day. I've also been running 3 miles 3 times a week. I bought a mp# player which helps time to fly by and doesn't allow me to notice my legs turning to lead. I think I'm going to start riding the bike for 30 minutes after running to burn more fat to get in better shape sooner. I can already notice results with my clothes being looser, except in my arms, which is good. I think I'm going to have my sister's boyfriend start training me so I can get in great shape. I know he's a good trainer b/c a NBA player for the Memphis Grizzlies uses him. -Mark Sorry for the long background info. |

This is MUCH better than a lot of those girlie emails that are passed around!! I'm stuck doing stretching exercises until my back muscles quit making me look like a marionette as they spasm!! But the pain meds are nice... :) |
