hey you guys, hope you had fun in Tucson! KD's convention was there 2 years ago, we were at the Loew's Resort.

Just one thing I thought i'd tell you guys... try not to spend too much time in the airport. It's TINY. They were remodeling some parts when we were there, but it only has a handful of gates. I had to spend several hours there and it was SO boring. There's also not many food options, so beware if you're going to be spending any time there!

BTW ... the construction at the airport is finished ... but kddani is right it isn't large and the food choices are limited...

oh no i did not know that....... i am getting there on tuesday too around 3ish or so the plane ticket says i dont know how i am getting to the hotel i wounder how far it is ??? if its 5 miles or less i will walk it but i really dont want to do that in the heat down there i think 85 is too hot. well if any one else is getting to tucson on tuesday afternoon we could get a cab together. also i would love to meet up tuesday night for dinner

As I understand it, the Tucson airport is quite far from the resort. You should have received a sign-up sheet for the shuttle to the resort (it's $25 one way) in your convention packet.

P.S. -- I'm an Alpha Xi Donna too! :)

the resort is about 20 miles from the airport .. walking is out of the question (its hot and up hill all the way)

there are taxis out in front of the airport

The resort does not have a shuttle that runs from to/from the airport.

Or call HQ and ask them what arrangements have been made for transportation on Tuesday ...

good call i am calling HQ !!! too see what they say..... i am just a bit nervos i have never been to an airport, on a plane, in a cab, out of state, so i am just worried about getting lost in a hot desert :) and not getting convertion and not meeting any one. being by my self for four days shareing a room with someone i dont know. dont mind me i am just ranting. thanks for all your help

Okay so I found the cutest dress at Spiegel.com for opening banquet. Ordered it weeks ago - got a confirmation number and a shipping date that was only a few days later.

Just yesterday, I received another email from Spiegel.com saying that the dress was on back order and I should receive it by July 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't they have told me that weeks ago??????

I'm so upset, it was such a cute dress, a little bit on sale, plus 20 or 30% off because I voted on the "bag of the season".... and now it looks like I am starting from scratch.

I'm going to call them Monday to see if there is any chance of getting it on time and see if they are willing to pay to ship it express - who knows, maybe they will surprise me and do it - doesn't hurt to ask, right?

Oh well, back to the drawing board!

In my mail today was another convention mailing and in it there was a great page called, "What Shall I Wear?".... it is great and includes pictures to give you ideas of what the expected attire is for each event. I love it!

hey if we are getting to the hotel on tuesday where do you ladies want to meet i will be there around 3 on tuesday so we could all get together in the lobby or something just tell me what you think. oh and i called the people who are providing the driveing service and they said that if you are coming in on tuesday it would be cheeper to take a cab so if any one is coming in to the tucson airport around 2pm i would be happy to share a cab with anyone...... well got to get going chat later

One week to go! I can't stand the wait. I'm so impatient!

Sorry to crash, but NPC and our convention were at the same hotel a few years ago and work interfered with my convention flight plans and I was a day later than planned. My shuttle to the hotel didn't show so I had to take a cab. I remember it being about $35.

We had so much fun there & I hope you do too!
