A Chorus Line
Godspell
Cats
Hair
Jesus Christ Superstar
My Fair Lady

I really like original versions. They updated Jesus Christ Superstar a few years ago and it was awful!. They sometimes show it on PBS. The overall feel was just horrid.

I have enjoyed every Broadway play I have seen here in Norfolk. My favorites have to be:

Cats

Les Miserables
The Producers (REALLY FUNNY! wish I had seen it Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick)

Saw it in NY a few years ago -- but would love to see it again since it changes as the current shows change.

Did they do the Les Miserable parody? It's hilarious.

RENT!

AOII_LB93 04-22-2005 09:47 AM

I've seen a ton of musicals now that I think about it. I think I must be one of the only people on earth to not like Phantom though. I saw it in London and just thought it was so-so.

My faves:
Sound of Music (Saw it with Marie Osmond playing Maria, she was great)
Lion King
Les Miserables (I love this one!)
Grease (mainly because I know all the songs)

I have seen many others, but those were just ok. Beauty and the Beast wasn't bad, but I would have rather watched the film again. I also wasn't really keen on Porgy and Bess, but I think I was too young to really appreciate it. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not much of a fan of Rent either.

I thought the production was good, score wise, mediocre at best. Puccini must be pissed if he found out what happen to his creation Musetta's Waltz.

Are you referring to Phantom or Rent? Rent was taken from Puccini's opera la boheme, not Phantom but I wonder what Puccini would think of Phantom.

Phantom. Listen to the Music of the Night and then compare it to Musetta's Waltz. It's is eeriliy similar. Also, if you listen to the main the overture of Phantom, the one that goes da da da da dum, it's exactly the same as Pink Floyd's echo.
