I actually was looking to upgrade my phone a couple of weeks ago and the Motorola 551 was one of the phones I considered. I did some research and heard nothing but good things, so I decided to get it. I had it for one day and took it back.

I'm used to smaller phones and this one was too big for me. Ridey was right- it's heavy and big. I also didn't like the layout of the menu options. I really don't need a cell phone that has a video camera and bluetooth, so I opted for a simpler phone. I ended up exchanging it for a Samsung E317 and I love it!

I would not recomend the v551. The V3 is a nice phone. The Sony S710 is coming out soon and that will be a great phone.

My first cell phone was a Motorola 13012 that I got in 1995. That thing was built like a tank. For its time, it was a great phone.

My fourth cell phone was a Motorola, and it was piece of garbage. I had to send it back to T-Mobile for my current Motorola. I've had this phone for about a year, and its a piece of garbage too.

I'm probably going to change carriers in a month or two. I'm considering Nextel, so if that happens, I'll wind up with a Motorola. If I pick some other carrier, I'll probably choose an Ericsson.

That's not yet true in New York.
