Women as faculty advisors - Round II

The chapter at Fullerton has never had a faculty advisor - ever - and we are working at finding one even as we speak. But I will do all that I can to obtain a male.

We have some dynamics with the school that make me very uneasy with this. We have been asked to tirn over minutes of all our meetings - house meetings, Executive Committee meetings, closed sessions where ritual and initiation are discussed - the whole enchilada. The administration seems to think that if you won't share this information then you are OBVIOUSLY hiding something.

If the faculty advisor was a man then, if need be, he could be initiated so that he could see that we've nothing to hide. With a woman, however, we do not have that option.

John, that was what I was trying to get across in my demented way to get the Truism of the difference explained. Thanks Kevin P.

Other Kevin J, are you sure of what you stated in your previous post?

I have never heard of that before. I have never seen that the Zeta High Pi has that kind of authority before. I am sure in many occasions it should happen.

Would be interested in find more out about this.

Thanks!

When did the intelligence fly out the Door here, my original post specifically says NOT THE HIGH PI, Tom please stop rambling on tangents to change the original intent of this question I posed. Yes we cant have women as High Pi's, save that for another thread.

PS- Who is giving minutes of meetings to the college either, F that.

Oops, my bad, sorry to bother you.:(

here the Delta-Theta Z at Grand Valley State University in MI, we have a High Pi who is from Lambda Omega Z (Central Michigan) and a Falculty Advisor (who is a male, but I've never seen him at meetings). We also has a female advisor who has helped another LXA chapter before she moved back to Michigan.

I personally don't see anything wrong having a female advisor. She comes out to almost all the functions (meetings, some of the recruitment activities...heck, even superbowl parties:) ) The actives brothers's grades are improving and we're getting some top-notch guys this year unlike last year, where the rush was a bust and the moral were down.

There is an active brother that is totally against her, but everyone else has welcomed her with open arms...even us alums that have met talked to her in person.

In ZAX,

Reading the posts and trying to get a lot of feed back, yes, there is a difference and it might be a good thing for Zetas that have no House Moms to aid the Young Men in learning a little more of the finer parts of etticat when dealing with the opposite sex and not eating like a pizza party in a room.

There are finer points of dress, eating habits, dealing with women that a Male High Pi may not be able to teach one.

Not to say, that that is the only reason a Female Counsilar could be of help. Dont take this as Male Pig, but a very good adjunct for the Zeta. Filing off the rough edges so to speak.!:)

Again, never hav ing been in this type of position, it is the blind leading the blind.
