ASU House
When I visited the Arizona State chapter house, they had a beautiful wooden front door that had the coat of arms carved into it. I wonder what they did with since the chapter is now closed down and they are knocking down their house to build a new dorm.

Hey, I'm only 18 months late on this thread but here goes...
At the Univ. of Arizona they had a beautiful coat of arms painted on the wall that was visible as soon as you walked into the chapter house. I first saw it in 1996 when my big brother and I were there for a UTEP/U of A football game, then again 3 weeks later when we returned for Watermelon Bust. In 1999 we returned for another UTEP/U of A football game and it was still there -- unfortunately the chapter was in bad shape and was later removed. The house also had letters painted on a wall outside. I figure all of that has been painted over by now.:( |
Stetson University (zeta tau) - the wall at the middle of the stairs is a big marble wall with the Creed engraved.
|
Phi Kappa Zeta (Auburn University Montgomery) has a C&C painted on the floor of their chapter room. We have repainted the floor black on several occasions (3 coats just this past may) and it keeps coming up through the paint.
|
?Why would you want to paint over the C & C unless you are not a LXA?
|
While not old but new, there will be a Brass C of A on the new monument sign in front of our New LX Z houae.
You can see the New House and sign with Brothers who were instrumental in getting it done and Placed. Jono, Rodney is in the picture as he was one of the main ones in this project. |
University of the South (Sewanee, TN).
Chapter room has a high, sharply-angled roof (no ceiling). Supported by large triangular beams above head level. Triangles each have two beams going from their bottom to the floor. Room looks like a parade of massive Delta Pi's! |
ark badge
Here is the badge from the Arkansas house. Ask you can see, it was damaged by the Sig Eps when the chapter was closed for 2 years and the house leased to them. It is large, and hte tile is made from asbestos, so it cannot be repaired easily, nor cheaply. Its ok, because it serves as a reminder of how fragile and precious our fraternity is.

Considering the size of the House, it seemed very small!:) Dont remember the red in the Lambda though. But, it has been well over 40 years. Just glad that the Zeta is back and in the Old House!:D |
This is an interesting thread. The Lambda Omega Zeta house doesn't have anything built in(as of yet, there's talks of possibly getting a cross and crescent painted on the floor in the basement this summer along with redoing the letters that are done in the wall with tape) but we do have a stained glass coat of arms in our new chapter room that is pretty tall.
|
Other than the letters above our front door, we also have a large cross and crescent in our foyer made of some dark colored wood. It is simple but looks very nice
|
Lambda Omega,
I may have a solution to the Letters done in tape, I know of a website that can make the letters in sort of an overgrown sticker type of thing. You pretty much just peel off the back and stick them wherever you want on your wall. Not to mention they are fairly cheap, I think around 50 or 60 for the largest set. If you are interested just send me a PM, I am on a friends computer and have the link bookmarked on my computer. |
