This is one of the few shows that restores my faith in human kindness. I cried so much during the show. For some reason, the reaction of Rodney's father really got to me. The entire family seemed like to be such good, deserving people. I really hope the two younger boys continue to pursue their dreams in science and law.

The on-the-spot wedding was great! Rodney's bride Monique was absolutely beautiful. I was so happy for them, especially when they gave them $50,000! Maybe they can use that to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle for Rodney. Even better, maybe he and his new wife can continue to further their education.

I hope the same things -- either the car or education. They did not say if Monique was in school or not.

I LOVE that show. I could not stop crying and the dad was making me cry more. It is just something about a black man crying, it touches my heart. I'm beyond happy for that family. The first time they didn't make it in 7 days was well worth it. I wish I had money to give to the show but I don't. Maybe I'll send them a card and tell them how they are warming the hearts of America and GC members.

** CT4 I know you were balling just as much as I was. The Lord is really going to bless Ty, it is well deserved.

Everytime I watch that show, I bawl like a baby. My mom was laughing at me until she saw the renovations, then she was crying too. :) YAY for the law and science kids!! I loved the Johnnie Cochran room!! I LOVED the parent's master suite!!! I lost it when I saw Rodney and Monique's house, did you see his face when the door opened!!?

It tore at my heart when the Dad started crying too, he was so happy, you could tell. Ty Pennington and the rest of the EM:HE crew are going to be blessed repeatedly for doing things like this for such deserving families.

When they pulled out the check for $50,000, I was just too through. I was thanking God for them.. lol..

But irks me when he starts with the blowhorn thing!! lol :p

Hey all..

I just wanted to let everyone know how I was personally touched by this episode. My sister was their and so was all of the old neighborhood. I grew up with Rodney and his sisters and brothers and he is the baby of the family. Those familiar with South Central LA, the house is on 94th between Budlong AND Normandie. Whew! Those were the days...

But this family is very deserving and it couldn't have happen to someone more deserving. What the show didn't show was the new van that was customized just for them and all of the money they received. Which is good cause sadly their is still some haters out there. I was so excited to see the house that I grew up in. And it is good to know that we can rise above and out ofthe ghetto. For that street alone have produced lawyers, accountants, teachers and other professionals.

Thanks for telling us a more personal side. I know that Soror Deltabrat lives in the South Central area and was hoping she would drop in and give us more insight. But you'll do too. ;) :)
Tell Rodney his story touched a lot of people. I am glad to know they also got a van for the family. I really wish Rodney and his family all the best.

Can you tell us though what is the turnaround time of when the renovations were actually done and when it was aired on TV?

The house was NICE!! Mom's room was GREAT!! Though it is a little "old" for my taste, it was still classically beautiful. It almost looked like a "Laurie" room (Trading Spaces). She likes to use toile in her rooms.

If I could have a home with half the beauty that these homes have, I would be SOOOOO grateful! I can't wait to be a homeowner.... *sigh*

2 Hour Ep tonight

It just came on. I cannot wait!!

CrimsonTide4 03-06-2005 10:56 AM

TTT

Tonight is the ep where they do the makeover for the family with SEXtuplets -- Black family.

CrimsonTide4 03-06-2005 10:23 PM

 Tell me they are building at least 2 bedrooms for the sextuplets. They will not be able to share a room for forever.

ETA: COol at the sliding wall for the kids' room.

GOOD JOB, EMHE!! :D

Neosoulchild 03-06-2005 11:55 PM

I was thinking the same thing, but it turned out nice. :)

Great entertainment

I couldn't stop laughing and smiling. The Harris babypeople were the cutest little things. And I know the parents must be relieved to have that beautiful home.

A Web site on them:
