Maybe the answer to that is, "Who cares?" They would simply be enforcing the law.

I would like to think that there is a middle of the road somewhere -- but I haven't seen it happen anywhere so far. We, as advisors, can talk until we're blue in the face and still lose chapters because the rules conflict with the things students want to experience.

Finally, I think that most schools really aren't concerned about losing great students. The really good ones are coming for more than the party atmosphere -- not to say that the latter might not be a tie-breaker between going to University A or B.

Hey, my school always shows up on the Princeton Review Party School list -- and I must admit I enjoyed myself greatly. But the real reason I went there was because of its' reputation as one of the best broadcasting schools in the country.

I think that's true of the majority.
