No, actually, you are turning into your parents. Twenty/thirty years ago they would have said the same thing about you slow-dancing with some boy too closely.

People have different standards of "decency." To kids these days, "freak dancing" isn't indecent. Similar to the way that "dirty dancing" wasn't indecent to you when you were growing up, but it sure as hell was to your parents.

I just said it was not appropriate for a school function because it honestly looks like the CHILDREN are having sex on the dance floor. So if we are talking about common decency, it's not for that time and place.

I'm not going to get into semantics with you about how I am not turning into my parents. Thirty years ago my parents weren't even married, and twenty years ago I was 8, so slow dancing with a boy would not have been an option.

Apparently you are not understanding the fact that I am not *that* much older than these students and what they are doing is sex simulation on the dance floor. Granted it's not all of the students that are doing it, but when parents are claiming that at the high school level, we as the faculty of the school need to "teach" their children how to behave better (which is really their job) on top of preparing them for college and/or the workforce, I think we can expect the students to not grind genitals, cop feels, and bend over looking like they are getting it from behind on the floor of a dance.

What it comes down to is the fact that it is a school function. If the school says don't do it, sorry those are the rules and if you don't like it don't go to the dance.
