We have tried everything at our house. The lists, fines, social probation etc...but it never seems to work.

It is always the same few individuals that clean everything up b/c they can't stand to live in a shithole and the guys that make the mess know this.

I do like the idea of upping dues to pay for a cleaning service though. I think I might suggest that at our next meeting.

"If you leave your dishes in the sink today they'll be in the trash tomorrow."

This is my favorite rule and as a clean freak I actually find it very gratifying to throw out other peoples dishes. We also clean out our common refrigerator every Friday. I know it sounds stupid but posting signs about some of our more drastic rules is very helpful; but the key is to enforce the rules. If you say your going to throw away people’s dishes you better do it or they’ll just walk all over you.
