so dont watch that video at work. :( that is so sad. i feel so much for her parents, and for her, too. shes doing so well and i can only hope she continues to do so. good luck and god bless to her and her family :(

awww poor little girl. you know this society isn't kind either so i feel bad for all the cruel people she has to come across in her life.

Just recently, there was something on the Discovery channel (I think) about Treachers-Collins syndrome. One of the young ladies profiled was in medical school. Keep you eyes and ears open for it; I'm sure it'll be on again soon.

wow. i dont think that was appropriate. women could take the best care of themselves and still mother nature could plan differently. blaming women for birth defects such as this one is a horrible statement to make--- there are just too many variables.

But it is appropriate. I think what my Soror is saying is that the risks of complications rise as women age, so if you're planning to have children later in life, start preparing now. I know she knows that things can and do still happen to the healthiest of mothers through no fault of their own.
