wow, this thread confirms my theory.

thank you, ladies.

What theory?

Who knew Vanessa was so upset about the show? I think she has some issues that she needs to work out.

The bloopers and outtakes were hilarious. Nora's impressions were dead on, especially her Heidi one.

Can't wait for Kira to go off on Wendy next week.

And I thought it was funny what Morgan did about apprearing on the show. How can you act like she did and tell the producers not to protray her as she really was? Crazy girl.

So they brought back the models also?

A couple like Martinqine (sp?) and Julia and two others were on there. Morgan wanted the producers of the show to sign some type of waiver because she realized that they producers were going to show her not at her best. :D

Tim was all nope can't do that.

Do you all think that Wendy drew on her daughter's picture just for the attention? Kevin did have a reason, but he claimed he didn't do it. When Vanessa mentioned the fact that maybe Wendy could have done it, she(Wendy) didn't say anything.

I wouldn't put it past her. She loves attention. That crying fit she threw when she "discovered" the picture was so over the top.

NinjaPoodle 02-24-2005 02:36 PM

I hate Wendy. Wendy suxs.
She got what she deserved. Nothing:p
I'm sad Kara Suan didn't win but happy Jay won. I disagree with Kors in that Kara's designs had a "Gucci' look to them. If that were the case, wouldn't Tim have told her?

I thought the "Shoe Gate" was interesting. Didn't know that the contract stated no favors but I think KS was savy in what she did. I say good for her.

I still think Austin should have been in the top 3.

TheEpitome1920 02-24-2005 02:42 PM

Kara Saun should have won hands down! I am pissed!

ms_gwyn 02-24-2005 03:13 PM

I am actually very happy with the outcome and I am glad Wendy did her thing (and I ain't mad at her either). I liked her and I didn't see anything wrong with what did in the show.

Up until last night, I wanted Kara Saun to win, but after last night and the way that she acted last night. I ain't mad at her for doing her thing and going out, being resourceful and getting those shoes made, it was the hissy fit that she threw afterward that I frowned upon.

The collections were great, each and everyone of them. I found myself liking Wendy's and Jay's more (in terms of what I would wear). Jay just blew my mind and I am very glad that he won. But I see myself wanting to wear Wendy's stuff.

I know I am the lone voice when it comes to Wendy, I know there was one thing that I didn't like, oh yea, when she took the bolt of fabric from Kara Saun's table, that was a little underhanded, but other than that, I don't recall anything else, also didn't see the full episode with Austin as the head designer so I don't know what went on there, but everything she said about Kevin (and what they showed on TV) was true. And obviously she is talented b/c out of 1000s of potentials, when was one of the finalist and she pulled it out when she needed to, in addition to the other person's work was not liked as Wendy's. Someone please explain to me, your dislike for Wendy, if you have it.

1. Wendy is a liar
Reality World website

"Wendy, meanwhile, was caught up in fall spirit and produced a line designed around a rural fall theme. While showing the clothes to a visiting Tim Gunn, the chairman of the Department of Fashion Design at the Parsons School of Design in New York City, she was also caught in the biggest fib of the early going, when she stated that her 5-year-old daughter Finley had painted a picture to give to the Project Runway judges ... only to be contradicted by an insistent Finley, who reminded her mother that she had actually painted the picture because she didn't have anything to do one day while her mother was working on her show clothes. Wendy showed the good sense not to contradict her daughter, showing that there actually were limits to her attempts at manipulation.
"

Yes, while what Kara did was skiddish, I think she was smart in thinking ahead regarding the shoes. Her shoes matched the outfits. She thought about the whole look and not just the dress/outfit. Wendy was not prepared.

ETA
For the Grammy outfit challange, Wendy grabbed the orange material off the table while Kara Suan was using it:eek: . The same color, ok, fine but the same material? Come on Wen, be original. That's partly what this show was about.

ms_gwyn 02-25-2005 01:17 AM

NinjaPoodle, we've basically said the same thing....and lying...everyone does it, why hold these people up to a higher standard? especially such a small thing like that painting, I really didn't see anything wrong with it.

I did note the whole bolt of fabric thing....I thought that was shady, and will not make any excuses for that action, but the color choice it was portrayed as coincidental ....nor the action of Kara with her shoes, if I had the idea, I probably would have done the same thing.

Jay and Wendy both had really not thought about shoes, granted Wendy freaked out about it more. But at least it seemed that Jay pulled it together and went out and bought shoes, maybe Wendy did also.

These stories are told in the editing room, so who knows..Jay made have freaked out too. But Wendy's "character" is the freaked out, over whelmed mom. And at times I believe Wendy was overwhelmed.

In these shows they create a character out of a person, with their more dominant characteristics.

With that said, I can't wait for the next project runway

GeoffZ 02-25-2005 02:06 AM

My issue with Wendy is that she was fake. It's like she came in as this character, "the sweet mom with the dream of being a designer". She even said that she was going to use the mom thing to make the others trust her. The whole thing rubbed me the wrong way. I'm too tired now to articulate it better, but I hate the woman, lol. I'm glad she ended up with nothing. She didn't deserve to be there. Her collection was boring.

I really wanted Kara Saun to win. Her collection was perfect, as the judges kept saying. I could see those outfits in a fashion magazine. Taking the flight theme and making a mix of vintage and modern was smart. Yes, it was a little Gucci-ish, but whatever. I loved it. Can't say the same for Jay's. I liked a few of his pieces, but overall I wasn't feeling it. Anyways, Kara will go on to do great things with all this exposure the show has given her.

tnxbutterfly 02-25-2005 04:53 PM

What I disliked about Whiny (Wendy) is that for the 1st three episodes all she did was whine about how overwhelmed she was; she didn't think she could be both a mother and a designer; she came from a smal town and this was her last shot at stardom. I could understand how she was feeling for the first 2 episodes, but by the third, I was ready for a different song a dance. I was like just shut up and do the darn thing already. Finally she won the BR challenge and shut up for a bit.

Then she said that she was going to be like the mom to everybody since she was the oldest. She and Austin were even good friends at one point. Then at the auction she started her whine again and it was all down hill from there

2nd season coming this summer

PROJECT GREENLIT
Bravo has sewn up a deal for a 10-episode second season of Project Runway, to debut this summer. Producers are expected to stick with the same successful formula of pitting 11 up-and-coming fashion designers against one crazy middle-aged hag.

WCUgirl 06-28-2005 11:17 AM

So, I completely missed this show. But I went out w/ some friends Sat. night, and one of our friends brought her friend & her husband along. Turns out, her friend was Starr from this show. :) She's a lot of fun.
