Another update...someone called!!

Here's the latest for me: I've been e-mailing this alum off and on that my targeted group's AI Coordinator put me in touch with a couple months back. She's very nice. Anyway, I hadn't gotten a response from the last e-mail I sent her about a month ago, so I was gearing up to drop her another "Hi, hello, how are you?" e-mail, when tonight - out of the blue - SHE CALLED ME!! :D

I was so thrilled, and a little nervous! But I felt very comfortable talking to her and I feel it went well. She told me she's meeting with the AI Coordinator next week and wanted to fill out some prospective member paperwork while talking to me rather than via e-mail.

I felt it went very well and am going to drop a handwritten "Thank You" note to her in the mail tomorrow. And maybe an e-mail before that too! I'm all on pins and needles about this. I want this SO MUCH and I know this is the group for me. Not be be dramatic (and commit a form of "suicide" as the undergraduates call it), but if they say "No can do" I'll be really disappointed and will definitely not pursue AI anymore.

Anyway, please keep your fingers crossed for me! I think this is good!

I'd suggest email OR mail, not both. It's overkill.

Thanks SmartBlonde, I never thought of that. Darn...I sent her an e-mail thanking her last night. Guess I would've preferred a handwritten note had I been THINKING...but I was too excited. :)

Wow, it is interesting to hear about AI from an PNM. I am interested in how you got interested in "XYZ" and found out about AI. Were you interested in the greek system when you were in college?

Did an alumna from that organization contact you? Is it a national organization? Do they have a collegiate chapter near you?

If I am asking too many questions forgive me, however this is interesting to me as I just found out that on of the advisors to the chapter that I also advise was an Alumna Initiate, and wow she works hard for the chapter.

GOOD LUCK and don't forget to enjoy the journey.

Hi ADPi ConnieBama, welcome to the forum!

I've detailed some of the background to my AI pursuit in the thread "I thought I was the only one doing this!" in this forum. The stories of everyone pursuing AI seem to be fairly similar.

I've been pursuing AI for almost 5 years. In a nutshell, I went through rush, met my perfect GLO match, but dropped out after Preference Night and have regretted it ever since. I didn't even know AI was a possibility until 5 years ago, and didn't know this wonderful forum existed until last fall. I've been blessed to have the support of everyone here since, and it's nice to be able to report some of the highs and lows of the pursuit.

For me, it's always been about "XYZ". I know it's the right one for me and am not pursuing any others. It's weird because in the past, acquaintances who were a part of the Greek system in college have remarked to me "I would've guessed you were an XYZ." So I know I must be on the right track!

I wish I could identify their "real" letters but want to be discreet until I know for sure whether I'll eventually be a member or not.
