That's a great bit.

we got 3 starbucks on different corners of a 4 way intersection across the street from each other. i am surprised we don't have one on the 4th corner.

Starbucks are inside D&Ws (very nice grocery stores) in West Michigan.

In Hillsdale, where I go to school, literally all we have is a Wal-Mart and a Kroger. If there were a Starbucks in the Wal-Mart, my roommate would most likely just move in there. :)

They opened a Starbucks and Jamba Juice on campus a few semesters ago.

Sadly, they were only a few yards away from my office so I practically lived there everyday.

They recently put a Starbucks in the Tom Thumb grocery. There used to be on in Albertsons, but it didn't last too long. I think the neighborhood was not receptive to high price coffee.

Has anyone else noticed that beverages from a Starbucks in say, Barnes and Noble, tastes different from the coffee you get at a regular Starbucks? I have a Barnes and Noble right next to my office that I could walk to, but I would rather drive the 3 blocks to the real Starbucks where they really know how to make a caramel frappachino!

I recently read an article about the insane number of Starbucks shops within small areas. The marketing folks think that the added convenience of having one on every corner will bring a bigger profit. They say if one has a line, you can walk one block to another store that doesn't have a line. It's all about accessibility and convenience for the customer.

Around here (Western Washington) we have them inside Top Foods, Haggen's, some of the Fred Meyer stores (not the one I work at though), QFC, some Safeway stores and some Albertson's
