There is a reason why I would never want to be PX! Although we do it very diffrent, because we are at a commuter school, I couldn't handle no letters.

When I was a PX, I put everything I owned that revealed my affiliation (letters, composites, favors from formals, my pin, keychain, etc) into a big box and taped it up. It amazed me how much stuff I had! Putting everything in one place helped me make sure I didn't grab a sorority shirt by accident some morning.

Things I did for my PNMs (that I wish my PX had done for me  ) :

- Be sure they have your phone number and know they can call at any time
- Be sure they know what level of dress is appropriate at each round
- Comfortable shoes (that goes for you as well as the PNMs!)
- Wear something unique and memorable in a good way (e.g. a cute item of jewelry or something - no t-shirts advertising alcohol/cigarettes/etc., no orange and green striped scarves with purple polka dots, etc.)
- Be sure to call/visit a PNM who was cut from all groups, and take some time to console her and talk to her about her options

Question: You said, "watch your step on the crests". I can see where it would be a bad idea to step on a sorority's crest, but why would a sorority put their crest on the floor where it might get stepped on? Is this commonplace?

This is a really good idea. I did this too, and yes, it makes you realize how many things you can't wear, but it helps you not slip up. I sported my fraternity shirts like they were going out of style---that was all I had left (as far as t-shirts go), but there are so many things that you have to wear that I bet you have forgotten about!!!
