Is there any way to be an ELC for 2005-06 if you're a December graduate?

aphibeach 10-21-2004 12:04 PM

i'm going to apply to be an ELC but let's be honest here, they normally pick women (fabulous ones too!) that have been chapter presidents.

Actually I noticed that most of them had lots of recruitment experience (Dir. Formal Rec., VP Recruitment, COB, etc.).

ELCs are not limited to Chapter Presidents by any means. Recruitment is important and so is general chapter knowledge and an understanding of Alpha Phi and greek life.

You sound like almost every other 20-something coming out of college. With graduation fast approaching, there is always that "need" to have our whole life figured out, with the next plan in action. I don't think life works that way. As I said earlier I think, you have plenty of time to figure stuff out, enjoy the rest of your time in school for now. You don't want to shell out a whole bunch of $$$$ anyways if you don't want to pursue something fully. By the way, a really cool website with threads like GC to check out is www.quarterlifecrisis.com. Everyone on there is going through similar experiences that you mention. Good luck!

And one winney's note, even though I've graduated and have a really cool job, I really wish I'd stuck around for grad school. Student loans can always be deferred! :p ;)

aphibeach 10-24-2004 09:23 PM

well i am lucky enough that i dont have any student loans nor will i need any thanks to my parents. so money isn't an issue

i found some possible jobs.....i have my resume pretty much finished and i'm hoping to start sending it out soon.

thank you everyone for the support and i'll keep you updated!
