Thank you again for all your sweet replies! While it may sound really lame, I want to share some pictures of Po as a sort of memorial since I couldn't be there when he was buried.
When I first adopted him (4-6 weeks; we didn't really know)... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...usjeni/po1.jpg At about 2 or 3 months old... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...usjeni/po2.jpg At about 5 months old... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...usjeni/po3.jpg R.I.P. Awww, poor puppy! I'm so sorry. I can sympathize because the same thing happened to my sister and I a few years ago...this stray cat had kittens on our back porch, and one of them was so small and really sick, but he just kept trying so hard to keep up with the other ones even though he couldn't. One morning my mom found him on the porch in front of the door where the mother cat had left him, and he was too sick to move so she brought him inside. For weeks, my mom, my sister, and I took care of him...took him to the vet, nursed him back to health. He ended up OK, and he was the sweetest little cat...even my stepdad, who detests cats, could tolerate him. Everything was fine until he insisted that we get Squiggy declawed because he was afraid for the furniture, so we did. That day we got a call from the vet saying that Squiggy had had some kind of reaction to the anesthesia and that he had died. We were all so sad, and I was extremely angry at the vet for ages. I know how it is...I couldn't stand to look at pictures of him for a long time, but eventually it gets better. I'm sorry, though...it's a really crummy thing.

Po looks like he was such a little character...I love the middle pic especially. I know he is running and playing his little heart out at the Bridge.

See? Right there. He was the little puppy that no one wanted and YOU took him in and gave him a home where he went on to live a very happy life. May that thought bring a smile to your face when you think back on your time with Po. .....Kelly :) |
