He was bascially saying that black women (and he said black women) come up to him, (and he was doing the ghetto head role thing ShaNANA voice thing ) and try to diss him and tell him he is short, he started to really get started and Chris Rock said hold up you can't diss the sista like that, you better stop it right there. Chris was basically telling him he was about to get himself in some stuff. But what kills me is that he was on a black show and was just about to go off on sistas if Chris had not stopped him. My husband and I were watching and my husband commented that he was surprised at what he said and how he was going to continue. I know a few people who say that show and were just as surprised. I guess the fact that he does have a white girlfriend made it 10 times worse.

NO HE DIDN'T!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif
Just as I was admiring his butt (again) in The Wood just last night!! |
What yall getting so upset for? I never thought he looked like sh-- anyway!
That white girl can have him, Wesley, Cuba and the rest of them weak punks who can't handle a strong-minded sister. |
Hello, I am new to the forum. However, I have been reading your posts and I find them interesting and enlighting. Now, on the subject of Taye Diggs, I feel that when he speaks low of Black women, he is not only insulting us but his mom, sister, aunts, etc nad HIMSELF. He also gives good Black men, like my husband, a bad name. Not only is he incorrect in decribing us (black women), but all of us do not act like that. Now, don't get me wrong we can act up we want but the statement he made was inappropriate and uncalled for. I wonder what his mother thinks of his statement.

Question?
Why is it black women get so offended when black men date white women? Everyone (black women included) is always talking about getting over this white/black thing, everyone should be treated equally, etc. but then you make comments like i have read here. Men are men and women are women. White, black, purple, or green. If i see a white man with a black woman THAT'S HIM, I DON'T CARE, AS LONG AS IT IS NOT MY MAN!!! What if I say something like "Damn, I hate to see our white men with these black women" or if Brad Pitt married Vivica Fox, I say "Why Brad why, with all the white women in the world". I'd be considered racist. So maybe you all need to check yourself, your level of maturity, and then ask the question again "Why black men come to white women". |

Chile, please that's a whole can of worms there! Don't believe the hype. Any time a black male or black female, for that matter, starts dissin members of their race as an excuse for their dating outside of their race, I get extremely PISSED OFF! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif Anyone who dates outside of their race exercises their CHOICE to do so. Don't try to negate your heritage, your culture, your momma, daddy (you get what I'm saying) to attempt to justify the CHOICE you've made. (Oh, I can't find a decent black man/woman)-that's bullcrap! I obviously, can't speak for all of the respondants on this thread, but, I BELIEVE that a lot of us are more upset because he's dissin us to justify who he CHOOSES to be with! To the Taye Diggs and Wesley Snipes of the world, look in the mirror and wonder what is it that I need to perfect within myself so that I might attract someone of my liking. Don't tear down others to justify your CHOICE! I am truly indifferent to others CHOOSING to date outside of their race. To each his own. Personally, I know I can't bring him home to my daddy so I ain't even going there! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif [This message has been edited by jazbri (edited February 14, 2001).] [This message has been edited by jazbri (edited February 14, 2001).] |

Anyway, like my Sorors, I am more upset with the fact that he is dissing the very type of woman that I'm sure brought him into this world. Again, if you have to put down something to justify why you chose something else, then maybe you are insecure about your choice. And you say, So maybe you all need to check yourself, your level of maturity, and then ask the question again "Why black men come to white women". Just because someone values their race, culture, etc. and only wants to share it with someone who can understand and appreciate it as much as they do, does not make them immature. So check yourself. Hi Tiffany. I notice you're new to the DST board. I trust you've taken a minute to read our guidelines. With that in mind, I'm sure you've come here for lively and intelligent debate rather than to cause drama. Enjoy your visit and be sure to jump in any conversation at your leisure.

I can't get into Ally McBeal.... I didn't even know they were adding some chocolate folks to the lineup... but I think I'll peep it to see what the deal is.
With respect to interracial dating... I usually find that the brothers with white women are men I would not want anyway http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif |

What ya'll need to know sorors is that Jesse L. Martin, now a detective on Law & Order, was the reason to watch Ally McBeal. His looks and acting skill puts Taye Diggs about two steps behind. I'm a sucka for a tall, sexy, black man.
