I'll give you an example that I got from someone who used to study with NGE.

There are some 5%ers who study and gain all of this knowledge that they seek from some of the teachings of the nation, however their cipher remains incomplete because they are standing in the same place they were when they started. They aren't trying to grow. Instead of taking what they learn and excelling, they are still out on the corner smoking weed, drinking, and bringing about all of these negative influences on the seeds of the future. In other words, they aren't practicing what they are being taught. That be the case, their word is not bond.

IMO a fake revolutionary would possess the characteristics of a liar, a flip flop, and a hypocrite all in one. Therefore, they wear the mask so that everyone will love for something they're not instead of what they really are.

Can blacks rise together?
 

Earlier, many posters mentioned that we (blacks) no longer have issues that unite us, but I disagree. Granted nothing will ever be universaly agreed upon, however I think there do currently exist some areas that need to be addresses (I'm sure there are others, but I'm just posting these for example purposes.)

Areas such as:
~better educational resources, especially for urban areas
~economic development with community support
~safer neighborhoods, etc.

However, IMO its the METHOD of addressing these problems that we will differ on and instead of simply embracing these differences of delivery (with the idea of the greater good in mind), some of us tend to take it personally as division (or dividing the resources), which isn't true. As long as there is a need in our community, there is room for everyone.

Do you think the Susan G. Komen Foundation views the Breast Cancer Foundation(or the host of others) with anomousity because they are "moving in on their turf" of breast cancer research? Or that the American Heart Association views The National Institute of Health (or the countless other orgs) of being "against them" when they heart research? Of course not. If anything, they work together for the greater good.

Sometimes, I think this mindset prevents us from addressing those basic areas of need within our community and instead, causes us to spend too much time/energy on "which org/person gets the recognition of helping us" and not enough time/energy on the actual "helping".

I think you are right in what you said... It may be the method used to unite us as what may divide us the most... Is that justice or "just us"?

Some of the old guard still believes in the "we shall overcome protests" marching boycott mentality... Whereas, the new school believes in "sawed off shot gun, hand on the palm" mentality...

Either way, these two methods are now highly uneffective...

Ironically, it takes some act of violence without provocation to unite folks wholly...

Just look at Rodney King and what happened (and what didn't) before, during and after the LA riots...

Hayle, just look at 9/11 and what happened (and didn't happen) before, during and after the attacks...

Whether it will take some kind of event such at these to bring us under one accord is rather sad... But may be a necessary evil...

Agree Agree, and as I said if you can do that in one place you can do it in another. It all starts with you the individual.
