Soror, I got Falling Leaves of Ivy a few years ago from the free bookstore better known as the library.

She has a new book out called HIT TIME that is written under her Ardella Garland name.

I finished it this past weekend. It was really good. Georgia solves crime by day and reports news by night.

i just finished reading Soror Camika Spencer's book, "When all hell breaks loose." We chose to read that book for the book club we have every semester. My spec is Soror Spencer's cousin and she also gave her a shout-out in the book's acknowledgement's section. i really liked it and i can't wait to see what everyone's opinions are after the book club meeting. i'll definitely let you all know.

Well maybe next semester you all can read her newest book: Cubicles. It is a good read as well.

**I had forgotten about this thread.**

The Delta Authors On Tour made their stop tonight at Houston Alumnae. It was wonderful!! I bought Soror Victoria Christopher Murray's book "Joy." Me and my line sisters were buying different books so we could trade them. We got "Everything Has a Price" by Soror Veraunda I Jackson, Esq.; "No Regrets" by Soror Patricia Haley; and some more. They autographed them, spoke, and read a portion of their books. I really enjoyed it

Sorors-

I want you to consider purchasing a copy of a book written by my line sister, Kysha Rowe (Xi Alpha chapter Spring 94 - GA Tech). This could be the perfect Christmas gift for your children or grandchildren!

The book "What Creatures Teach Us" contains 52 devotional stories each focusing on an animal and a teachable attribute or characteristic specific to that animal. This book is targeted for pr e-kindergarten through sixth grade children and their parents. The book is available online for $12 plus shipping.

Two of my favorite authors are at the top of the list:

A. Kimberla Lawson Roby
1. Here and Now *OUTSTANDING TEARJERKER
2. Casting the First Stone
3. Behind Closed Doors

B. Yolanda Joe/Ardella Garland
1. He Say/She Say
2. Bebe's By Golly Wow
3. This Just In
4. Falling Leaves of Ivy
5. Details at Ten (under pen name of Ardella Garland)

Nikki Giovanni is a poet who has several books published. I am sure there are others but I don't limit my book reading to a person's Greek affiliation.
WOW! I love Kimberla Lawson Roby (did not know she was a Soror) and Yolanda Joe

Actually I don't think she is. I was given misinformation years ago. Unless someone else confirms it, she is not a Soror. :) But I still love her. SHe has a new book coming in January.

I just wanted to bump this because the thread about Frankie Muse Freeman made me think of other Delta memoirs and biographies I've seen or read:

Open Wide the Freedom Gates (Dorothy Height) -- really helped me understand why she's so important to so many. Great chapter about her DST involvement.

There's a good, thick biography out about Betty Shabbaz as well. I own it, but forgot the title. MUCH LATER found out that the author is a Beta Chapter Alpha.
