A caller at work today made me think about this thread. I was looking for a phone number somewhere in Missouri, I think, and I couldn't find it. The woman asked me check the "surlying" area. :rolleyes: It was all I could do not to laugh.

In my experience, this term is commonly used in higher education administration/student development circles in referring to how variables/study constraints are defined for a specific study.
