Some of these are building because of preasure from Greek Alums who Donate money to said schools and find out that Greeks Do Give a lot to the Campus.

It seems that some such as Mid Tn at Murfreesboro have built houses that most cannot really afford.

Those that have houses are not going to move into school sponsored housing and will fight it. Well, unless the Houses are in total disrepair.

I salute some of the schools that are doing this, but at what cost?

I agree with Tom. A lot of the time when these are built, the groups are more or less forced to live there. They've been talking about one at IUP mainly because they want the GLOs out of sight and out of mind, and out of the town of Indiana. From what I gathered the proposed village was in a very out of the way part of campus.

My campus did not have any "official greek" housing. We just had houses, or apartments in some cases, that memebrs leased and agreed to have it serve as a "chapter house". I wish we had on campus housing, or atm least official nationally sanctioned hosing. I think it would bring the greek community on a campus together, and make greeks more visible on campus.
