Ok, so Trump fired Bradford because he made a rash decision. But wasn't Trump's decision just as rash as Bradford's? He said himself that Bradford was the best person in the room (which I disagree with), so why, as a businessman, would you get rid of your best person? I think the Trumpster was being a bit of a hypocrite.

Carolyn was thrilled to see "the Bradford" go, you could just tell.

I think Ivana is going to need to go visit the show's psychologist after this boardroom. I thought she was going to need someone to help her up.

Supposedly the boardroom for last night's episode was 4 hours long, which is why the episode ended up being 1 1/2 hrs. That must have still been a nightmare to edit.

ETA: Wrigley, they should have been able to see the other cart, especially with the giant red umbrella on it. Even if they couldn't see it, 42nd & 7th and 42nd & Broadway are really really close, and if they had taken about 2 minutes to walk down the street, they would have found it. The women were just being bitchy and stupid, IMO.

Methinks The Donald did it pour encourager les autres. Bradford fell on his sword when he gave up his immunity. Noble gesture but it won't win you points in the boardroom.

I, like Caroline (er, Carolyn), think Trump made a great decision, and I don't think it was rash at all.

Bradford may have been the best businessman there -- that is, he may have had the best business skills (arguable, but I'll go with it) -- but his biggest liability was his cockiness, a cockiness that led him to make a rash and impulsive decision when it mattered because he was so secure in his own invulnerability that he didn't think about the implications of what he was doing. Like Trump said, that sort of thing can ruin a company in a heartbeat. It showed incredible stupidity and lack of judgment.

As for Ivana, the smartest thing she did was bringing Bradford into the boardroom, because she would have been gone otherwise. Thing is, I'm not sure she realized it when she brought Bradford in.

Who are your predictions for the winner?

I have it narrowed down to about 5. Raj, the Italian stockbroker from NY, Maria, the blond Jennifer and brunette Jennifer even though Trump seems to hate her. I think Raj is going to win.

last nights boardroom decission was insane! i didn't think the donald would fire Bradford. I think it was dumb of bradford to give up his immunity, but i also think it was dumb in trump's part to fire him.

yes.. bradford was cocky, but i don't think that's always a bad thing in the business world. look at trump, he's the epitome of cockiness and yet he's a self made billionare.

Trump is not self made by any means. He had help from his father who gave him the money to purchase his first hotel. Fred Trump was either in real estate or construction and left behind multi million dollar company for Donald Trump to build from as well as his business contacts.

thanks for the info! i didn't know that! i'll restate my sentance:

That was GRRRRRRRREAT TV!

I didn't know I was going to be watching TWO HOURS of the show. All that extra boardroom footage was very interesting, and it was hilarious to hear Donald sigh while Ivana was talking, but all of that inane arguing and attempts at self-preservation gave me an insane headache.

I agree with the decision because that was just plain dumb to give up your safety net.

100% co-sign. I was floored when he told Bradford he was fired. I pray to God that a lot of people took a lesson from that kind of cockiness and poor-decision making. I don't think he'll ever get an opportunity like that again, and now it's wasted.

BTW, I'm predicting that all of the women will gang up against Ivana and make sure she's gone before Stacie J. because she lost a highly valuable member for the team. Bradford shouldn't have put himself in that position, but Ivana didn't have to bring him in.

valkyrie 09-18-2004 11:49 PM

True, but Ivana would've probably been fired if she hadn't brought in Bradford. Maybe he would've fired Stacy, but I think it's more likely that she's the type he'd give another chance.

kappaloo 09-19-2004 12:31 AM

I really saw it as a case of "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". Bradford gave up a chance to stay in the game with the hope it would help him stay in the game later on. Trump obviously feel that in business you take every chance you can get to move onwards and upwards.

AznSAE 09-20-2004 12:24 PM

i have a feeling this season's winner will be a girl.

True. The difference is Trump doesn't let his cockiness impair his judgment -- or perhaps more to the point (and maybe even more accurately), he doesn't want anyone running one of his companies whose cockiness will impair his judgment.

Cockiness, or perhaps better stated, self-assurance can be a huge asset in the business world. But it's not an asset if it keeps you from making good decisions, especially when the decisions are big ones.

Simply put, Bradford let his cockiness, his certainty that he would never be fired, blow the job interview.

Are you kidding???

Trump doesn't let cockiness impair his judgement? The guy is a total joke. The reason he is doing this show is because he has lost so much money.

I totally don't think the guy putting himself on the line and going into the boardroom was stupid at all. He had confideness. Yes, he was a little cocky, but he probably didn't think that STUPID Ivana would bring him in to the final boardroom! God, that infuriated me! Now everyone is totally going to hate her! That was seriously the most intense boardroom scene EVER!

jojapeach 09-21-2004 09:44 AM

I had to respond...

I hate her for doing it, too, but she would be even dumber than Bradford if she didn't bring him in. Bradford was the ultimate dum dum b/c he set himself up to be put in the situation. Trump said it best: "All you had to do was come in and shut up."

Again, it was stupid because I don't think anyone gets the opportunity that these 18 people got. You can't just walk up to Trump, so how often will anyone work under him to glean as much information as possible? Now, I actually think Bradford has a chance as being characterized as crazier than Sam.
