Why is this considered a SoCal Only thing? You mean to tell me there's NO other member of ANY student club across the country that, when feeling disrespected by another group, feels some need to insert machismo? You don't think Iotas and Alphas fight outside of So Cal? That ATOs and KAs haven't duked it out at one point at SOME school outside Cali?

Signed,

I'll be happy to tell you why.

You alluded to this sounding like a "Bloods and Crips" thing -- which goes straight back to my comments on stereotyping.

This was a fight between two organizations who must have issues with each other. Gang violence is a whole different issue. It is deadly.

If you believe you are being unjustly discriminated against, I strongly suggest you PM the board administrator.

Otherwise I would appreciate it if you kept inflamatory comments out of the Risk Management forum.

A comment for Delta Sig Stan -- You're right, this isn't just a SoCal thing. I know of several instances where there have been fights between Greek chapters -- one at my own Alma Mater.

SigmaChiGuy 09-08-2004 04:08 PM

Actually, the Blood and Crip comment was referring to my comment about Gang Warfare. As one group (org. ABC) and another (org. XYZ) get into a multiple person fight, they can be seen as 'gangs'. As Bloods and Crips often fight, such as the article posted above, it is actually relevant. And, there are plenty of Blood and Crip, Jet and Shark, East Side and West Side, Compton and Watts, Red and Blue, ATO and KA fights that do not escalate to death as you state they do - So really, my post didn't have to be deleted. You just must have been bored or had really nothing to do today, rather you continually pick me out of the hundreds of posts per day, and delete it. Get a hobby or something.

Now please proceed to deleting this post, as I know you will.

That is just stupid..

Sorry to disappoint you.

I believe that your deleted post was potentially inflamatory, whether it was meant to be or not.

Again, if you have a real problem with my intrepretation of your post or a complaint against the way I moderate Risk Management, communitate it to the Administrator.

Ah Rudey dear...they do dance a little, talk a little, and step alot. If you have never been to a step show, then what the hell are ya waiting for? It is a great experience. You are not going to find...Zoolander...type action but I think you may enjoy it.

Thanks!

Just wondering about all the obscenities that have been posted that ARE NOT CENSORED. That is all.

I say it is mostly a Southern Cal thing based on the many stories I've heard about and a small experience myself with the NPHC So.Cal greeks. IMO I think they have a serious problem with greek unity and have too much confusion over the word "hood."(in greek terms, meaning I don't mean "the ghetto" when I say "hood." )

Well, if you're refering to it being an [NPHC Socal] thing, then I digress since I'm not in an NPHC org and don't know.

IowaStatePhiPsi 09-08-2004 08:54 PM

SDSU has enough minorities for NPHC fraternities and sororities? I thought South Dakota was just full of white people.

DeltaSigStan 09-08-2004 09:31 PM

Very Funny.....

For the sake of hoping you're being sarcastic, SAN DIEGO state...

No I can't say that I've ever seen the TKEs and Delt Sigs fight before or Theta Taus.

starang21 09-08-2004 10:32 PM

Yes I am referring to NPHC orgs because other than the typical aux. that I know of like the Kappa Kourts and the Omega Gems, I'm not familiar with any other frats or sororities besides those of the NPHC. Closest I've ever been in contact with a non-NPHC org was at six flags when I saw a bunch of DZ's with pink and green hair and shirts on. That's it.
