Would anyone like to say what seperates Obama for the typical Democratic candidate? He just seems typical to me and I don't get all the hoopla over him.. Oh well..guess I need to dig a little deeper in his policies :o

I think a big part of it is that he's young and rising fast. A Senate seat at his age is a good step to higher office (such as being Governor at a young age).

People also seem to like his style of public speaking.

And we have the worst state legislature in the nation. Are you trying to prove that the New York State electorate has bad judgement?

Or are you simply neglecting to mention that if Giuliani had stayed in the race, he would have routed her, but becuase he withdrew, a no-name lost to her?

I finally made myself read Obama's speech and where he "stands" on the issues. I can see that folks are "moved" by the way he talks...but being "moved" by the way a politician talks is pretty meaningless to me. The proof is in the pudding..so we'll see what happens when he wins. I didn't see on his website where he stood on abortion or gay marriage though..

More so recently for conservatives then it is for liberals. Especially since one side "mandate" is based on "MORALS" as the republican party prides itself on. Heck, hypocrisy should be expected from those "evil" democrats shouldn't it?:rolleyes: Why is the Rep. party stooping to that level?

Good question, one which I'm not sure the Dems. know. But, I can't think of one time, where teh Dem Party have bashed others for "lack of morals" and stated that they're here to bring "AMERICAN MORALS" back to the white house or to government.

In this case the term "Carpetbagger" comes to mind -- but not attached to Keyes himself. As I understand it, the Republican Party basically recruited him and strongly urged him to run, even after he had made speechs against it pretaining to other races (meaning election contests).

Clearly, the GOP had to come up with a "name."

In a way, it appears they're making him a sacraficial lamb. If he loses by huge margins, it certainly won't help his future political ambitions.

And he seemed HAPPILY MARRIED WITH CHILDREN to a full on sistah... She look like she gets a Fabulaxer and her little gold blonded streaks were nice... Don't ask me why us black folks think like that and liked dat stuh 'bout dat boy, but that was one reason why we did...:rolleyes: ;) :p

My question is, when will the smear campaign begin? Will "they" attack Obama on his "persona" or on his "policies"... Watch out for the first commercial... When it comes out, see if it is truly about his policies or just the way he is as a person--if it has nothing about how he could not do the job, then...

I don't really see the point. Obama had Illinois from the beginning and at this point, I don't think any amount of smear commercials or campaigning will change anything. He is just sitting back chillin right now.

His wife does look a little whooped, though, I must say. I actually know her...she works at the U of C somtimes and she always looks like that. I guess those little kids are taking her for quite a ride. *shrugged shoulders*
