Kappa Pi chapter of AOII

Well...I wasn't even going to pledge. Girls from another sorority used to "dorm storm" every night before formal rush, and I found them just plain annoying, so fake, and so not my thing. Then it turned out that my best friend lived on the AOII floor. And, so I got to know them, and they were really different. They were so real, and never pressured me about being in a sorority. They invited me to some of their parties, and they were just fun. And they all knew each other and seemed to genuinely enjoy being together. And then I found out that they had the highest GPA on campus for several years running.
So in the spring it came time for COBs and I went to the events. By the end of the first one, I was hooked and knew I wanted to pledge.
Now as I look back, I realize that I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today without those wonderful women. Through the years, I have become very involved with AOII on the national level. And even though I have met some exceptional women, there will always be a special place in my heart for my Kappa Pi sisters. It is because of the things they taught me that I continue to do what I do now. Even though our chapter is now closed, they still mean the world to me.

AOIIKristi made an excellent point. NO PRESSURE!!! When I received my bid for Sigma Kappa I said yes right away. The girls were happy but insisted I take the time to really think it over b/c it was an amazing commitment to make. They told me that I had to be 100% positive about this b/c they really liked me & didn't want me to have regrets later. I took their advice but during my "thinking" time, I always knew in my heart that I would go for it.
I think that sometimes some girls may be pressured into rushing & accepting bids when they really don't want them. If they are dong something that doesn't make them happy, why would you want them in your organization? I believe that the feeling has to be mutual between the Rushee & the sorority or else there could be trouble later.

(Ok, I'll think up a serious answer later.)

LOL. That's a good enough answer for me.
