I'm going to be really pissed if this doesn't come out in the major movie joints.

go to the movie's website to see if it plays in your area.

Two thumbs up.... The movie was really good. Personally, I think everyone should go see this movie. I don't want to say too much for those that haven't seen it yet.

:D

I did not make it as planned over the weekend but I have a 5 day weekend coming  :D so this weekend I shall but according to Yahoo News, WTAL was #6 this weekend which is EXCELLENT considering it only open in 408 theaters!!

I wonder how they decided on which theaters to show the film at. It's only shown in 1 theater in Chicago and 3 theaters in the suburbs. I'm surprised that the usual places that show independent films aren't showing this movie. I think it's great that Oprah gave a plug for the movie.

DSTinguished1, try fandango.com click or enther name on the film titleand enter your zip code. That will tell you if the film is playing near you.

This is on my list of movies to see. There is also a book (seperate from the original) out in stores.

I saw it over the weekend and I thought it was pretty good. There were a couple of corny parts, but good nonetheless. It was definitely emotional. I missed the first 3 minutes (the foreshadowing) or so (I was hungry, y'all), so the ending was a total surprise for me. I think I liked it better that way.

GOOD MOVIE

the movie was GREAT! The beginning of the movie was breathtaking...it kept me intrigued the whole time.

For everyone who saw the movie, was it better, worse, or the same as the stage production from a few years back?

Unfortunately, I did not see the play.

DSTinguished1 10-06-2004 11:00 PM

i cant say worse or better...but the play set the scene better to me. It's like in the play i sympathized with all the characters and I actually felt emotions and it made me cry a little. However, the movie was good, it just didnt evoke the same emotions if that makes sense?

candygirl 10-23-2004 12:31 AM

I just saw the movie. It was just okay to me. I like the story line but it just seems like something was missing from the movie. DSTinguished, I feel the same way you do. The movie really didn't evoke any emotions in me. Maybe it was the way it was directed. I don't know. I think Elise did a great job though.

Conskeeted7 10-23-2004 01:46 PM

The movie was just released in my town. I think I'll go see it sometime next week.
