That's the way I tie my shoes. That was the only way I was ever taught.
No bunny ears for me.

Going by what was previously posted in the thread, i do the bunny ears. I just recently found out that their was another method of tying shoelaces, and since i have never met any one who does the loop swoop thing i cant even imagine what it would look like. As if it could be that diffirent because obviously the finnish product looks the same reguardless to the method that was used.

Am I the only person who wishes they made bow biters for adults?

You learn something new every day. I never even heard of the "bunny ears" method until I read this.

On the other hand, I usually wear loafers.

I do it the Big Daddy way: loop, schwoop, and pull.

Loop, swoop and pull here...

I learned to tie my shoes by reading a book called the Shoelace box...My dad even made me my own shoelace box to practice on.

Huh? Shoes? Who wears shoes in the summer?

Nah but I use both methods...lol...I don't really think about it.

Same here... although most of the time I wear either pumps, sandals, or boots that zip up.

Doesn't matter how you tie your laces, as long as they don't come untied by themselves thirty seconds later. :)

1. Tie a knot
2. Make a loop on the left side
3. Wrap the right side around the loop and tuck
4. Pull the two loops

No bunny ears for me either

i do the loop swoop thing...although i never knew it was called that! but i use the bunny ears method when i'm tying a bow on something that i want to look pretty (ex. a present). it seems to look nicer and more even.

has anyone seen Raising Helen? this thread totally reminded me of the littlest girl who would always cry because she couldn't remember how her mom taught her to tie her shoes..ZTA Mich, i think your way is how she was taught in the movie: "over, under, around and through, meet mr. bunny rabbit pull and through" :)

pshh- compared to all of y'all I probably lace my shoes "fucked up". I'll have to take a picture or make a diagram sometime. Very different than the average joe-schmoe.

mmcat 07-28-2004 07:25 AM

i used the tie book too.
never thought about bunny ears though. they do stay tied.

Speechpath 07-28-2004 08:16 AM

My brother and I both do bunny ears, we like to tease our mom that she failed as a parent to teach us the other way. My husband still laughs at my bunny ears.

GeekyPenguin 07-28-2004 08:41 AM

I do bunny ears on everything now - when I was still throwing I did loop/swoop on my throwing shoes because the laces were way too long and I felt like that pulled them tighter.

KSigkid 07-28-2004 08:43 AM

bunny ears...although i feel a little weird still calling it that
