DGQueen,

Why don't you start working out. Build that habit and start reducing the amount of ciggerettes you smoke. That way you won't gain as much. But I've read some articles that said that the fear of gaining weight is psychological, but I've read otherwise too.

Nope, don't smoke. Pollution is bad enough!

I suppose it is psychological. But I think a lot of people do gain weight because they substitute food when they have a cigarette craving.

Ames, Iowa is ranked the least smoggy metropolitan area by the American Lung Association. Yay- healthy lungs for me!

Since when is anywhere in Iowa a metropolitan area?

Jill1228 07-22-2004 03:44 PM

It is definitely a legitimate fear! I gained weight after I quit smoking 7 1/2 years ago

No, it's not stupid, it's a legitimate fear. That's why a lot of people are afraid to quit. No one wants to out on weight.

Ditto.

And don't let the Iowa kid lie - DBQ is NOT a metropolitian area. It's like a suburb with no city.

thermobryan 07-22-2004 08:36 PM
