Someone actually asked me today what I thought and I promptly responded with "I dont care". Seriously, I dotn own Omnimedia or Imclone. I dotn watch her show, and dont care for pastries. So I could care less.

My only comment is STOLEN (yes Rudy) from Crossfire today. If its illegal for citizens to lie to the government, then why isnt it illegal for the governement to lie to its citizens, and why arent George Bush and Dick Cheney in jail for lying to us about WMD's in Iraq?

I think it's a bad idea. There are much better punishments that could have been given. But minimum sentence requirements were in effect.

I was kind of confused that she was convicted about lying about an ilegal event they never proved took place :)

Supposedly she made 50 grand on the transaction. It probbaly cost the government millions to prosecute.

I hate this unrepentant bitch so much.

I'm kind of confused about that as well.

It also cost 200 people their jobs at OmniMedia, Martha Stewart's company. The negative press drove down business and the stock, so they had to lay off about 200 people. That is really sad.

Watch for the "Martha, Making it Better Behind Bars" special on CBS during the February ratings sweep.

I think it's probably good that she was given some jail time -- if she ever serves it after all of the appeals.

On a side note, a guy I know was in charge of working with her during the last time CBS had the Winter Olympics and says she is a bi-ch on wheels. Which, of course, has nothing to do with the case.

Does anyone know where she will serve her 5 months? club fed?where?

I seriously doubt she will get an appeal

NBC reported tonight that she has asked to serve the time in a Federal facility somewhere in Connecticut (can't remember where -- perhaps Danbury?) so she can be close to home.

They also reported she will appeal, but that Federal decisions in this kind of case are seldom overturned.

I wonder if she is going to tell the prison cook what meals to make and her fellow inmates how to decorate their cells.

All I want is a damn apology and an acceptance of responsibility. She acts like she did nothing. She lied. As a result of her lies people were hurt. Her shareholders, ordinary people, were hurt.

She's on TV acting like she's been sooooo hurt and that everyone is being unfair to her because she's a woman and the best part is that because she had a successful show that was a better alternative than other programming, that the judge should give her leniency.

This rat got the minimum. It is crap like this that makes me want to leave the country. Fricking corrupt people.

--And you know what else? The next country I go to I'd find even more corrupt people!

Her tens of fans must be crushed

Here, here!!

Anyway, I'm very afraid of the idea of M.S. on HOUSE ARREST!!! LAWD! She's going to finally go crazy. When they release her, we'll all see the horror that will have become her home. Watch her turn bad and create a "brothel motif" in her bedroom or something. Teeheehee!

 She's going to live it up on the taxpayer's dollar as all celebrity prisoners do. You know what I don't get. Why don't we have all the prisoners WORK for what they have. I mean, they want cable TV, lights, food, bedding, etc? Let them work for the state so WE don't have to pay for them and get nothing in return. It makes absolutely no sense! When I worked at a city jail (not even a big fancy state prison), they had it so good that I seriously wouldn't have minded spending some time there myself.

The worst thing they had to deal with was these little orange crescent dealies with a pad on them that served as a bed before the inmates were booked. Whatever...

ETA: I'm sicker than I thought! My grammar and all is horrendous! My apologies.

Who says they lied?
