He must have been making demands that weren't in his contract. I highly doubt they would have fired him for oversleeping and missing 3.5 hours of work if he had been a "model employee" before.

Yeah, I kinda was feeling the [lame excuse] being inserted AFTER he realized that "a) no more money" and "b) we don't need ya" came down from CBS.

I don't get to watch CSI much, but I enjoy it when I see it. On the other hand, Miami is a part of my weekly routine, and when I am not here, hubby tapes it for me. I love that show and the characters.

I do think that it is getting really watered down with all the same shows -- CSI, Miami, New York, NCIS (which is really just CSI staged in the military). I love Gary Sinise, so I hope that he will bring life to NY. I just HOPE that they can shoot their film with some lights -- the intro from last season between Miami & NY was SO dark -- we really thought they were shooting in B&W for awhile!

I just received some of this information via email and I thought I would share it.

According to Variety (via Yahoo! News), representitives for Fox are claiming she did indeed sign CBS's letter promising to come to work during salary negotiations, but because the letter was mailed and not faxed CBS may have assumed the actress never signed the letter.

Jorja has since been rehired. Eonline broke the news yesterday. Plus, it has also been stated on CNN as a "misunderstanding".

As for George, here is what his press release said:

While promoting the TNT movie Evel Knievel in which he stars at the Television Critics Association press tour, Eads claimed he overslept the first morning of CSI filming. "I overslept," he said. "And I don't mean I overslept 10 minutes, 30 minutes. I woke up white as a sheet 3½ hours after I was supposed to be on the set, and called to say I was on my way to work, and they said, 'Don't bother.'"

Eads claimed he was surprised over the network's response, maintaining that his absense was not "because I was holding out for more money. It's never been about cash for me. It's never been about money for me. That's not what this is about." He felt that CBS reacted in an extreme manner, relating it to a football coach firing a player for showing up late. "I'd expect the coach to have me run hills and run wind sprints until the sun goes down," he said, "not, you know, completely fire me."

Eads said he hopes to have the situation resolved by this weekend. He contacted CBS and "apologized nine ways to Sunday," though he did say he has yet to speak to CBS chief Les Moonves. "If after I've spoken to him from my heart he knows exactly what thesituation is, he's the boss. It's still up to him," Eads said of Moonves. "I want all this to work out. CSI is a part of who I am," he added.

As for George it sounds like he is having difficulties "speaking" to Les Moonves. I can understand though. LM has been bombarded with questions about the firings. Fans have been sending him letter and emails and leaving messages on his phone or with the secretary. All of these "issues" could make the man "hard to get a hold of".

Another report I had heard was the reason Jorja and George were somewhat holding out is that CBS was willing to give them the raise (which is fine swell and dandy) but I guess they were cutting the actors out of any of the syndication (and quite possibly DVD sales) profits. William Peterson has already publically announced his dismay with CBS, Jerry Bruckheimer and the affiliates cutting the actors out. But obviously the actors were willing to show up to work and then "work on the contract negotiations".

I know that stars get a bad rep for being greedy and what not but I would certainly be pissed if during my contract negotiation the company was trying to cut me out of the profits of DVD sales and syndication. Do we not remember the X-Files and the trouble David Duchovney ensued when X-Files was syndicated and the actors were "cut out from the profits". He sued.

Oh well, there are the facts and some of my thoughts.

I guess it is official that Jorja and George have been rehired to CSI. The news broke last night. Jorja had been rehired a couple of days prior but George was just rehired.

Wooo Hooo us women don't have to worry about our favorite sexy Texan not being on the show. :)

hahahaha -- I am SO glad that CBS stood up to the hostile negotiations! Glad that they will still be on so we aren't left with a hanging storyline!!
