We've had problems in my office too. Someone actually stole a pouch full of change from my supervisor's drawer. WTF! It was change.
Is there any way you can get the office manager to give you the key to your top drawer or overhead bin and store all your stuff in there?

Well, I reported it tp our house supervisor, my nursing manager, made a police report, and put up mean signs around our unit. And thats about all I can do!( Except complain alot ;) ).

Of course, we all got the lecture about not keeping money in our bags, keep our stuff in our car or locked up, blah blah. This happens all the time in the hospital unfortunately. It's happened to a few other people on my unit.

SAEAlumnus, that made me laugh so hard. Thank you!
And thanks to you guys for letting me vent!

Well I'm glad you reported it.

But what pisses me off the most is that you'll always get a lecture about not locking up your valuables, etc, etc., but no one ever gives the elcture about how wrong it is to steal, and that people who do things like this are pretty much low lifes, and how if the culprit is found they will be punished to the full extent of the law. it's always the victims fault.

Seriously. And then if your locker gets broken into, the employer (or in my case, my gym in junior high) claims, well you shouldn't have left valuables in your locker in the first place. We don't take responsibility for that. They always gotta cover their asses don't they?

I have had my car broken into twice. While replacing the window was the most expensive loss, it still sucks to hear your apartment complex say "file a police report and sorry!" BAH! I looked at a police map of crime, my apartment complex area already had enough car break ins reported.

I feel your pain.

I have been surprised since I got into the workforce, at how common stealing is. It was an epidemic at my last job. They ended up putting cameras in.

And it wasn't just cash...people would steal car keys, your lunch, you name it!

I am so sorry that happened to you. That really sucks!
