I'm not a Usher fan....however alot of my LS's like his music. So, I listened to the 1st "Confessions". It was OK..... But to have a remix thats contains lyrics about harming and/or killing an innocent child....I have a problem with. I think that Usher should demand that it is pulled off the air. He reputation is at stake!!!

This song was discussed on the Oreilly Factor last night, and just as the case when Mr. Oreilly came against Ludacris...people will see Mr. OReilly as a racist. Regardless of if its a white man pointing out what's wrong in our community..wrong is wrong. It is funny to me when people talk about airing our dirty laundry... when we do it everyday in our own music..whether we're singing it or buying the records. WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE???? Folks get all upset over silly incidences like "Blackface" at a college party...or Senator Trent Lott's comments....but when rappers in our own community do something like this..we cry freedom of speech AND dance to it when it comes on the radio!!! Now, to be honest, I'm guilty of listening to songs with a good beat that have bad lyrics, but once I really listen to the song, I don't like it anymore. Now if I'd have heard this, it would have turned my stomach and I would have turned the dial.

Now, it wouldn't be freedom of speech if a white group made an album talking about how they don't like black people, or some other type of thing that went against us, like our own people's music. There'd be an uprising. It seems like Black folks want to be respected by the outside, but don't care about their own communities. That's not gonna fly. That's why folks were mad at Bill Cosby for tellin the truth.

It really sounds like your opinion is sorta based on something that hasn't happened yet, if it ever happens. I don't think anyone in this thread, or that I even know, agrees with what Joe Budden is saying in the Confessions remix.

I think there IS outrage about this song....it just depends on what your media outlets are. If you depend on Fox News to see the outrage among people of color, then you won't see much.

The other thing is, this remix is NOT getting airplay in many places, and perhaps that's because the powers that be at radio stations have decided that this song crosses the line. I don't know.

But it does just seem like the things you are mentioning in your post are kind of out of left-field.

Well if no one agreed with what these rappers say on their songs..they're record sales and popularity wouldn't be sky high.

The outrage doesn't depend on what my media outlets are sweety..as if you know what they are...when our community chooses to really come out against something..its well known...if anything...fox news is looking out for this type of things moreso that Bootylicious Entertainment Televeision News....

You generalize an awful lot.....there is no such thing as "THE black community." There are black communities in which some of us live and some of us do not. "Outrage" does not have to be lead by an entire community for change to happen.
