True, but McCain blatantly said on Hannity&Colmes a week or so ago that there was no way he was going to be Kerry's runningmate, in fact, he is currently campaigning for Bush.
And Richard Nixon said, "I'm not a crook."

And Bill Clinton said, "I didn't have sex with that woman."

And Ronald Reagan said he didn't know anything about Iran Contra.

And "W" told us all about the WMD's we would find. (IF they find them, I'll appologize)

And Rumsfeld knew nothing about torture of prisoners.

Hey, it probably won't happen, but my only point is that you can't just assume it won't because a politician (or a member of staff) says so on TV.

You are 120% correct DA...

Thus far, I have had less cause to be skeptical of McCain in that way. He's shown himself to be a pretty straightforward guy. That's his image. It would be a blow to his image if he reversed himself on a matter like this. I'm not saying it's impossible, but with him, I think it's a lot less likely.

And you are probably right. My point is simply that even an upfront guy like McCain is, in the end, a politician -- and they have a funny definition of "truth."

And "is"....

I think "truth" in politics is an ever-changing target - based on the times, polls, etc....with very few exceptions - and those are the great leaders of our time.

McCain made the right decision. I would be absolutely incensed at him for agreeing to run as VP for Kerry, which would utterly be the final sell-out of whatever principles he has/had...

BTW...on a side note, and you don't have to respond here if you don't wish to, but just curious as to who you are supporting: Miles or Salazar?
