Did any of you have the privilege of meeting your brother Ronald Reagan?

Only the museum part. Least it that way at the Carter Library.

I think that they are often run like museums, so that there are exhibits that are public. It may, however, be difficult to get access to archives.

Rudey, yes, presidential libraries are open to the public. I have been to the LBJ Library in Austin many times. Very interesting to see, and I would recommend visiting any of them. Yes, parts are restricted, (the actual archives and papers) but the many open exhibits are well worth your time.

He displayed those principles in the most outward form - as president of the United States...

yes, I met Ronald Reagan...
 

I have posted a couple of anecdotes, memories of Reagan in the
TKE site, so will not repeat here.
He was, at times, a nervous man, but charmed undergrads all over the USA, not just Tekes, but man other greeks. And, both
he and his brother John Neil Reagan served as president of the
TKE chapter at tiny little Eureka College in IL Delta Sigma Phi,
Lambda Chi Alpha and TKE are the fraternities there. All are of
a reasonable health as chapters.
Some folks have said he never drank...not true, not true at all.
He was outgoing to all kids wearing letters and he was host to
almost a thousand Tekes on the White House lawn, pictures in
The Teke magazine. Ohio State greeks will never forget him as
he invited all the Greek presidents, fraternity and sorority, to dine
with him in the TKE "castle" house in Columbus. I have been told
all attended save one...whose father had suffered a coronary the
night before. Reagan called the hospital and chatted with the young man...I have been told this was true...at any rate, he was
a memorable man, I saw him three times.
He took his fraternity membership seriously...he never forgot...

Sad day, first President I voted for in 1984. In retrospect I think he will be looked upon as a decent man and a better than average President.
He seems so emblematic of the 20th Century, from a small town, radio announcer, star, new deal democrat ,union leader , Goldwater Republican, Gov. and President and a good fraternity man. What an odessey.

Yes both Nixon and Reagan library are both open to the public, but i just heard on local So Cal. news that Reagans library will be closed for the next 7 days as his coffin lies there at the library before going to DC.

I wonder how "Hail to the Chief" sounds on golden harps? As a brother DEKE said today of that great interfraternal brother TKE, he is now in that shining city! May God bless and reward our late President and may He also bless and comfort his wife and family.

I worked for the Alz Association and the work they do is so vital to battling Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias.

To the TKE Brothers, take pride in the quality of the brother who walked among you for a while. He was a inspirational in his devotion to GLO's and the Greek spirit.

To do great things, we must believe in great things.

Although I know nothing of the TKE ritual, it is my hope that the former president not only believed in it, but acted out of its teachings.

It is my belief that good brothers understand our rituals, but great brothers practice them all the time. While some of what we learn in the college experience might be considered negative, a good brother always turns it into a positive experience.

TKE, you need not be sad for losing a great brother, but be happy for being able to call him your brother.

Ive been to the Reagan library a ton of times. Its about 10 minutes from my house. The museum is open to the public and is awesome. There is a huge slab of the Berlin wall there that is absolutely amazing.

He will definetely be missed.
