That is now confirmed. The SWAT team apparantely cut its way into the vehicle and found the suspect dead from a self inflicted gunshot.

An article also says he had some type of 50 caliber weapon he was firing, but seemed to be careful that he didn't hurt anyone.

Cops reportedly fired lots of rounds which were totally ineffective. One was also reported to have dropped what appeared to be a "flash-bang," down the exhaust pipe -- which also did nothing. (A flash-bang is a kind of grenade which is very loud and bright when it goes off -- but does not fragment like a military fragmentation grenade. They are used in SWAT and other Special Operations situations)

In the late 90's in Alma, Colorado, another disgruntled man killed someone and stole a front end loader and attacked a city hall there with it.

This was one pissed off and frustrated guy over a zoning situation.

Polotics bred strange bed fellows. Sometimes the out come is sad and bad.

In this case, it so proves its point. He now has no more worries!

The had video from inside the "tank" on local TV tonight. This guy was an evil genious. The thing had TV cameras and monitors so he didn't have to have windows to drive. It had gun ports for a couple of rifles and a 50 Cal. machine gun.

The armour was either 1/4 or 1/2 inch steel on the inside and outside and 4 to 6 inches of concrete between the steel. No wonder they couldn't blast their way in.

If the cooling system hadn't broken, he might still have been driving around destroying things.
