That sounds like classic AT&T. they are nortorious for pulling crud like that. I am on the phone to customer service a lot with them... Did you get that letter recently from them regarding the fact that Cingular has bought them out and changing over sometime next yr
I try not to use as much as i can and just wait my contract out but i do want to switch badly! My ex husband just moved back to Oklahoma recently and he was telling me that he had the free nationwide and roaming plan and he just got his bill and about fell over fromthe fees......AT&T sucks! he is a cheap anyways so serves him right!:) heheh |
Unless T-Mobile has majorly upgraded their service in the past year I would NOT recommend them unless you'll be only in major metropolitan areas. They were my first provider (as Voice Stream) when I moved to Texas (had to change because my previous provider in Ohio and NC did not provide service in TX). First thing I noticed was that even with the volume turned all the way up, I had to shout and did not have service inside my house. NO where in Plano could I get more than 3 bars. Then, I tried to travel. Biggest reason for me to have a cellphone is for long car trips by myself. Glad I didn't break down on the drive from Ohio to Texas because there was 'no service' ANYWHERE along the road (all major highways like I-40) .... hard to belive that the entire state of Arkansas is out of the service area! I also tried to use it in rural Western Mass/ Southern Vermont-- no service whatsoever. I would have gladly paid roaming charges but T-mobile doesn't roam. There also was no service anywhere on the Ohio Turnpike/ NY Thruway. How can I-90 be 'out of the service area' unless you don't have adequate towers... when I switched I was told that T-mobile could only use their own towers where other services can use towers that belong to other companies. What good are free minutes if there isn't anyplace to use them?
I switched to Cingular and have been very happy. Always have good reception, no billing issues and best of all, it works indoors, outdoors, at home or on the road. |
Yep with Cingular for many years now! Great coverage.
Calling Jill sucked in B C Canada, doubled my phone bill!:( |
I had t-shittle for a year, its sucks, crappy service, horrible....I got NEXTEL, its awesome and worth it....PM me for my direct connect...

Hey Hun, it's Gracie, I've had T-mobile for 2 yrs. I love it. Not an issue at all with reception, and I drive through MS in the bum F*** Egypt as some people would refer to it :) I hope you went with T-mobile... Call me and tell me if you did LOL

I was reading a B-list celeb's blog and she was talkign about how she was offered a free phone but it was T-Mobile and she couldnt be taken seriously using T-mobile.
When I was researching phones I asked a frend about T-moblie. She quickly told me that it had no crediblity. In her words, "What is is a bar? Who changes its name that often? " |

LOL...thats true. :) But I still love T-Mobile nonetheless. Cheap, great reception, great phones, great customer service. The one problem I had was quickly resolved & the phone they replaced my old one w/ was an upgrade. |

I've been thinking about T-Mobile when I get back to the States, because I have it here in Germany (it's originally a German company). |
i have t-mobile... a friend of mine told me that they have a customer loyalty perk... they'll give you $50 per year you have been a customer off a new cell phone.
I really want a new phone - is there any truth to this? |

I was really mad at t-mobile (voicestream) a couple of years ago. My phone got stolen but since it disapeared a night I was bouncing to a lot of different places I thought I just lost it and it would turn up in someone's car. I gave up after a couple of days and reported it. A couple of weeks later my bill shows up with over $70 worth of calls made to Mexico the night my phone was lost and then no further charges after that which suggests they immediately disposed of the phone. I called to ask them about it and they told me that since the calls were made before I reported it lost that I was responsible for the charges. Now, my boyfriends job is to run fraud detection on cell phone databases and t-mobile is their biggest client. According to him, these sudden foreign charges should have triggered an event and been under investigation.
Anyway, I called to close my account with them and only then did they offer to replace my phone, credit me for a month of service, etc. I said no, I'm with Verizon now and I've been pretty happy with them. |
Hey ur friend is right Catherine Zeta-Jones is hot, i personlay have verizon and i belive that its the best, but if i were look for a new company it would more than likly be t-mobile cuz Catherine Zeta-Jones can sale ne thing. O yeah and they get pretty good reviews.:D

My mom seems to be convinced that with our T-Mobile service you can call anyone on the T-Mobile network all the time. We have some family friends who also have T-Mobile and she talks to them all of the time so I would assume it's true, but I haven't checked it out. So if you do have a lot of friends with T-Mobile, it could be a good way to save some of your minutes! (I know Verizon does a similar thing because they advertise it all of the time.)

Dont know about T-Mobile, but dont get Verizon Wireless. Some people LOVE VW, but noone I know from the Akron/Cleveland/Ohio area like them at all. We just went through hell with them. They overcharged us, said we were on a completely diff plan than what we were on and charged us like 300 extra 3 months in a row, the lied and changed things on our account, and overcharged us for our phones. Plus they ALWAYS drop calls. This happens to all my friends who use VW too. They stink.....
