Listen. As my mother says, there's nothing wrong with a little recreational weed smoking. (Although she said if I ever tried it, she'd beat me senseless.) And I agree, for the most part.

However...yep, there's always a however...there is a BIG difference between smoking a little bit and being a total pothead. I do not like potheads. Not as boyfriends, anyway. A guy I briefly dated loved his weed, and I was cool with it at first...until he started blowing me off because he wanted to go get high instead. That's not cool. He always complained that he had no money and was too broke to take me out once in a while, but you'd better believe he came up with the money to buy marijuana. It doesn't sit well with me to think that a scrawny little plant is cuter, sexier, and more interesting than I am, so I had to get away from that. I hated the smell of weed, too.

I don't smoke anything and I wouldn't date anyone who did, either.

When I was younger (high school/early college), I dated guys who smoked pot. Would I now? I doubt it. I don't think it's the devil or anything and I don't hate people who do it, but now that I'm older, I prefer someone more responsible. I wouldn't put them in the same category as a raging, violent drunk, either. To me, that's two totally different things, but I wouldn't date either. Drinking every once in awhile and being able to handle your liquor is not a big deal.

I don't think marijuana is a terrible thing in and of itself, I just have a problem with the whole "it's illegal" thing.

If it was legal, I wouldn't care if I was with someone who smoked it. IMO liquor is much worse as far as ruining lives and causing harm.

i think it's all based on experience whether you consider it "bad" or not. i don't think it's something to get all crazy about....it's weed. whoopty-frick. i just don't see the hype.....been there, done that, not that fascinated with it.

but, no, i wouldn't date someone who did it. been there, done that, too.....and i just don't like being around high ppl b/c i never am. it's like being the sober one around all the drunks. bor-ing. if my friends do it, i don't care at all and i don't judge them. it's their thing if they wanna do it, and it's my thing if i choose to not be around it.

I was sorta seeing someone in High School (yeah long ago) that smoked but everything evolved around getting high etc. really annoying. Since it was HS it was nothign serious anyway

I prefer if the guy didnt smoke. I dont mind once in a while but to me its just irresponsible because when you're high some act all stupid and its annoying. and if combined with alcohol i dont want to constantly play babysitter.

Now that Im thinking of the future etc. jobs require drug testing etc and to me its more like a HS thing/ college, but after that guys should just lay low on lighting up again. :)

I pretty much agree with this. But by "once in a while" I'm thinking more of a rare occasion than only on the weekends at parties or something, I'm not really comfortable with that. I think I have a bad perception of regular smokers because a lot of the people I know that smoke weed are really annoying about it..."this movie would be better if we were stoned...look at all this food, we should get blazed" like everything is about being high. I mean come on.

There is a lot of drug use in my field. Coke is probably the biggest thing but pot is nothing big. All of these guys are sons and daughters of the best and wealthiest families out there. There are also tons of drug tests - nobody gets busted because nobody is stupid.

Anyway drugs shouldn't be a crutch and shouldn't be an all the time thing. Also it beats drinking a ton of calories every time you pick up alcohol. If you can make sure it doesn't affect your work and daily life, it's fine. If a girl can't understand that, she can go suck dick somewhere else...who cares right?

I'd say there are always a select few that can handle their sh**!!! Even now in college i know people that smoke out a lot but theyre still in the honors program or get good grades etc.

I come from a family with substance abuse issues. I don't want to deal with that in a mate....plus stoners are a) always bored and all "heeeeey maaaaaaaaaan" and b) like ariesrising, I hate smoke, it does nasty things to me.
