Oh dear winney. Definitely signs of emotional abuse. Any attempt by your partner to control your money, your actions, etc is a bad bad sign.
It's hard for counselors/therapists/social workers to be totally objective about relationships. I have 4 years of training as a therapist yet sometimes can't see myself and my own life objectively. I'm so very glad you got out of this relationship.

Hey Swiss Miss! U are sooooooooooooo right! Sometimes I think I think things through too much because of my background and training. And you know when we broke up and I actually encouraged him to get counseling (he had some other stuff going on too) he told me "You know, you would say that because you are surrounded by Social Workers and Psychiatrists all day" (some of them who knew him said he should get counseling). I don't know, I think every relationship is a learning experience and it is by nature for many of us our "need" to try to "change" or "help" someone but bottom line is that a person has to want to change and help themselves. I am now 110% single and 110% happier then I have been in a long time :)
