I completely agree. The problem is that no congressman has the balls to introduce such a bill (actually, it would be best to have a bill repealing the Federal Highway Funding Act, but I'm OK with a national drinking age of 18 or 19) for fear that MADD and the soccer moms and holy rollers will brand him a purveyor of alcohol to our sweet innocent children and get him tossed out of office.

So true - those lobbying groups have an incredible amount of power. (Yet another reason the under-21 crowd needs to get active and vote and lobby.) I always find it ironic that Elizabeth Dole and the rest of the "more power to the states" crowd pushed that federal highway funding bill linked to the drinking age.

Maybe you should run for Congress ...;)
