I hate AIM. I prefer Yahoo! any day. The only reason I have AIM is because so many friends are on it and refuse to convert to Yahoo! so AIM it is.

I hate those mutha fluckin forwards that say you'll get a new buddy list or they are gonna shut down Yahoo Messenger if you don't send this to everyone on your list.

Uhm, Yahoo knows how to reach each and everyone of us. They have our screen name and more importantly they have our e-mail address.

I give fools one warning. Next piece of junk I get they are off the list. I don't need spam from my friends.

I really hate it when people keep signing on and off every few seconds. I don't care if your computer is going crazy or whatever, sign off until it's done so I don't keep hearing you sign on incessantly and so I don't think it's someone new online. GRRR people.

I hate those away messages where people list their entire day's plans, too. One of my friends is just the opposite: she leaves those messages up all the time, and told me that she hates when peoples' away messages don't say where they are. I'm in another state, why do you need to know where I am at 3PM?

I swear to God I hate girls who dedicate their AIM away messages and profiles to their boyfriends. I would hate guys who did this except no guy is that dumb. When I had a boyfriend my message would say "In Lee's room..." not "AT Lee's OMG I LOVE HIM SO MUCH XOXO 143 forever!" One of my friends has the best profile ever for this and I make fun of it all the time.

I have a new IM pet peeve

One of my sisters has up a message that says "Hey, guess what? I'm in Germany. Be back in 10 days!!!!!!!!

Ok, its great that you are in Germany and all, but so are 2 of the other sisters (its a Holocost class run by my college) and they didn't see the need to leave their computers on for 10 days, accomplishing nothing but making your utlility bill higher and wasting electricity!!!:mad:

In a nut shell, if you are going somewhere for more than 2 days, please shut off your computer. Lets save some fossil fuels!!:)

I do not understand why people from GC feel the need to IM other people on GC and tell them they just got laid.

this makes me so angry.

i will admit that i am one of those AIM crazies that leaves pretty pointless away messages...i usually type out some cool lyrics from whatever song i've just been listening to, and then i put where i am/what i'm doing (brief though, like "out with the girls @ benny g's!" or "party with the taus!" and then my name. that's it.) at the bottom.
so that way if anyone's bored enough they can read the lyrics or whatever, or if they just wanna know what i'm up to they scroll to the end.
some people have complained about the lyrics part, saying it's silly, but i just say that they don't have to check my away message if they don't like it.

I go on IM when I turn on my computer in the morning, and I never put up away messages. I always forget. But I will stop in and chat with buddies when I am bored with work. I guess I don't really pay that much attention to it.
