Did you get that sensitivity training that I suggestd for you?:D Anyways I think this is a good topic and opportunity for aspiring young ladies to ask you all questions (within reason) that only your experiences as AKAs could shed some light on their curiosity.

Whoooaa! Slow your roll. I was only joking with my sisters. Don't assume that following my remarks is a proper way to gain knowledge.

The crude reality of the situation...

This email is HARSH... The TRUTH hurts sometimes and folks need to realize that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, INCORPORATED is a corporate entity as well! My dayum dues, per capita and EAF payments prove that fact! So when ANY random-off-the-street-scruffy-lookin' entity demands I explain the intricacies within my Sorority, how is this person gonna expect that I am anything BUT terse and derisive... And this has YET to do with lacking the fore knowledge!!! Ignorance is inexcusable!!!

SO FROM NOW ON!!! I REFUSE TO ANSWER IGNORANT QUESTIONS RECEIVED IN MY PRIVATE MESSAGES TO ANY "FAIR WEATHERED" INTEREST!!! WHEN YOU STEP UPTO ME, YOU HAD BETTER STEP CORRECT!!!

And you have YET to curse me out on this board, I have verbally BOXED and WON by knockout against Klansmen!!! So it would be very unsound to make statements against me and especially my Sorors!!! Moreover, I have yet the desire to be a Soror Moderator, but the current Soror Mods already KNOW ME and understand that I have SEVERAL years of active involvement with my chapters and with my Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. International Headquarters!!! The officer roles I have held and the Boule committees on which I have served dictate the AKAlades of my positioning within my Sorority!!! So basically that means I may be physically meeting with several Sorors on my Directorate--including those who finalize the constitutional decisions for the MIP...

So, YES, I can affect an interest's invitation for membership... I have YET to want to PLAY that game, but I might if given some circumstances... And YES, it is unfair. And YES, you will have to do independent study for my Sorority if you are a skerioussss sisterfriend...

Also, the web was unimagineable to me when I was an interest... I had to hit the pavement and seek information even in the face of derisiveness... So, you have yet to currently haze me--or more like "pimp" me or my Sorors for my Sorority's information outside
AKA1908.com!!!

DISCRETION!!! SO DO A SEARCH!!! HELL, start with my posts... I tell y'all hellva lot from JUMP!!!

In sisterhood,

AKAMonet
Dr. GLMoore, Ph.D.

PS... If any lackadasical interest or those who havta stir up chit negatively respond to my message, I KNOW my Soror Mods WILL shut this topic down and nunna y'all will have much sayso!!! So, beware!!! YES, I know my Soror Mods!!!

 Same questions, same answers.

At this point I think all interested parties like myself are going to have to realize that the members aren't obligated to answer our questions. Try to contact members in your area, check out webpages (personal and official), or go to the library for info. I know it is hard to try and speak to the ladies in the organization, but maybe we do need to more research before posting. I always do a search in the forums before I post and usually I find an answer to my question. I could complain about when I ask questions and the members won't answer me back, but why? I am pretty sure there is nothing in their rules and regulations saying they are required to respond to all interested parties. It is just my opinion that if you want something done you have to do it yourself. So let us not rely on the internet for answers all the time. You can suprise yourself on how much info can find through a little soul searching. It has worked for me. ;) Remember that success is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. :D

Blessed be to all other sisterfriends and sorority members,

Sister Sorors of AKA, please forgive this interruption, but I have a question for Ms. crybaby327.

Crybaby327, if your interest is NOT in AKA at this time, then WHY are YOU concerned with how they are handling their business? This thread is about questions regarding membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Unless your interest lies there, this thread does not apply to you. Now, if you're talking out of both sides of your mouth, well, that's another issue, and YOU need to address it.

ivygirl 04-19-2002 03:00 PM

Hello Sorors,

You know we must act like ladies at all times. I know we must not go around telling or advertising AKA's business but at the same time we want to present outselves as approachable women and no the negative image some people have that AKA's are snotty. We can let potential AKA's know in a more dignified way where to seek out information about our GREAT SORORITY.

Sisterly,

Ivygirl

*edits were in order* ;) :D

My post....

Moderators,

If I remember correctly I posted a question about graduate membership. I don't see it. I don't remember if I place it here or as a separate thread.

If it's still here then forgive me for not looking more closely. If it was removed I would like to have an explanation as to why. I was really hoping to have a variety of responses since I know many of you are members of graduate chapters. I have received to PM's (thanks guys ;) ). I am hoping for a few more since there is so little discussion about graduate pursuit. Thanks in advance...

AKA2D '91 04-20-2002 02:45 PM

We DO NOT have to give you an explanation...

DO A SEARCH!

:D

(if it was a snake...it'd bite you) -your clue!
