Is it just me, or did their errands become yours when you got your car? Oh, and my mom used to embarass me shopping when I was younger. If it was a shirt (or a dress, coat, even bras) that she was thinking about getting for me, she made me try it on over my clothes in the middle of the store. To this day, the only things I try on are shoes. |
Okay, okay, how many of y'all have children of your own now! C'mon, anybody??
Yeah, my mom (and grandmother) did all that crazy stuff too (esp the spit http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif ) but now I find myself doing a lot of the same things. As a mother of 2 rambunctious (sp?) boys, ages 4 and 6, I see myself turning into my mother/grandmother. I will call up and down the block/store/etc to find my child; however, I use their public nicknames to avoid publishing their identity. I had to spit on my oldest son's leg scrape to keep the dirt out until we got back to the car and the first aid kit. I also make sure that they don't act like they have a maid (ie picking things up off the floor). I also ask them to get things because these old bones (I'm 33) are not as limber as they used to be. LOL You know that there is a saying that you must be careful lest you turn into your parents. For most of us it is a good thing. But the flip side is to watchout because your children may end up acting just like you! ------------------ MCCOYRED Mu Psi '86 BaltCo Alumnae Dynamic...Salient...Temperate...Since 1913 |
