i just finished reading the book last night ... read it in 2 days also... this book does have a lot of substance ... b/c it in my opinion lets you look at it from the inside out... this book is mostly read from Winter's point of view... i grew up in NY .. DA BRONX... so i could relate to a lot of it b/c i knew girlz like Winter... self-centered and all about the Benjamins... but it put me in the mind frame of the first book E LYNN HARRIS wrote... it open my eyes to a lot of things that i had no clue about as well as the book SORORITY SISTERS..also written by one of our sorors...T.J... all these books brought out very enlightening points... but you have to go in it with an OPEN MIND ..B/C THAT IS THE KEY TO READING A BOOK... GO IN WITH A BLANK POINT OF VIEW AND IT MAKES FOR A BETTER READING AND ANY BIAS OR NEG/POS THOUGHTS DONT TARNISH THE SUBSTANCE THAT BOOK IS TRYIN' TO GIVE U..
just my opinion.... an avid book reader... peace ... one love http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif SPR 01' Gamma Upsilon The Survivors |
I know I'm late but I just finished The Coldest Winter Ever. I didn't particularly care for Sister Souljah when she was a rapper, cause' she was way too butch for me. Anyway I got the book as a gift and didn't put it down til' 4 in the morning. I loved it!!! She is a very talented writer and I view her differently now. I'll have to read her other book.
