A store I had a lot of problems with was Alphabet Greek. When the Greek Vendor from there came to my school, I gave him fabric to make two sets of letters, one for me and one for my little. When he came back, my Big picked up the shirts. When I finally got them, I saw that they used a different pattern then what I gave them. I called them and was told I had to send the shirts back to them before they'd make me new ones. Mind you I had to pay for the shipping out of my own money. It took them forever to make the second set of letters, and I got it about a week and a half after they said I'd get it, and I barely had them in time for her initiation. (They came the morning of.) When one of my sisters ordered from them, they messed up the sizes and shirt colors on just about everything and wrote Kappa Alpha Psi on some of the things.

A bunch of my girls have had the same problem, but with GreekRho.com, which was owned by our national president (or something like that). They never got their items or their money back. You have to be really careful about online stores, I stick with JoeToga.com and Greek101.com, because myself and other have used both of them, and we know that they will deliver when they say they will.
JoeToga does has some really cute stuff. I'm glad to hear they are a reputable company.

Licensed Vendors?

There's a company called Greek Licensing that connects the Greek (inter)national organizations with vendors of all kinds to provide officially sanctioned goods and services. The vendor is supposed to prominently display the "Greek Licensed Product" logo and pay licensing fees for selling goods with the organization's crest or letters on them. Their website is http://www.greeklicensing.com

Do any GCers think it's important to do business with an officially licensed vendor? Would ordering from these companies provide you any extra peace of mind?

In the interest of full and honest disclosure, I'm curious about this because I'm awaiting several licenses at the moment. :)

Bubu,
I always order from the lisensed companies. This way I know that company is reputable. Also I think that ordering nonlicensed items is like stealing, and its not really fair to the companies that follow the rules.

I do think it's important to buy from licensed vendors. In my case, it's just extremely difficult to FIND one, since my organization isn't one of the larger nationals. :)

I also think it's important to order from licensed vendors, but I thought the licensing had more to do with correct printing of the crest and letters and stuff like that, as opposed to the reputation of the vendor.

The stuff that I ordered from GreekLoft wasn't anything I had seen offered by a licensed vendor, and it was very inexpensive! Although I will have to say the experience has made me lean more toward seeking out licensed vendors to deal with exclusively.

I've ordered from GreekNation.com and Greek101.com. Both companies are very reputable and I recieved my items when they said they would arrive. In response to an earlier post both sites have plus sizes they cost a little more but thay are quallity tshirts and well worth the money.

Greek Nation really caters to the Divine 9 and LGLOS, so if you are a member or either you can find alot of stuff for your org.

P.S. Greek Nation has small crest as the sale of the month. So if you're GAO, SLG, ODPHI, KDChi or any Divine 9 org and you don't have one with shipping it will cost no more than $11.00 dollars.
