We had the concept of Extension Membership, which would allow for this, but it was dropped in 2000.

Extension Membership was intended to help jumpstart new chapters by allow up to a certain number (between 4-6) of students from a school that didn't have APO to join a chapter at another school. Once that number was reached, it was hoped that those Brothers would form the core of an IG at their school at take to to chartering.

Apparently it was used successfully in some part of the country, but not in others. Some didn't understand this and it was removed from our National Bylaws.

I'm trying to find out any place where it was used successfully...

Please realize that re-instatement of extension membership requires a change in our National Bylaws. An attempt was made in 2002 to do so, but failed.

Next time would be 2004, IF someone tries again. You'll also need to get the voting delegates to agree, otherwise it will get voted down again.
