Question to everyone. Would/Do you consider an "Escort" a "Prostitute"? Why or why not?

What's the difference between the two? I always thought of an escort as a prostitute that travelled with the client, and usually involved a lot more money.

See, that's what I thought too.
But if prostitution is illegal, how can there be escort ads all over the Yellow Pages and in the back of local magazines? |

Most people don't object to escorts, as opposed to streetwalkers, because they don't see them, and their children don't see them. |

Works pretty well in Nevada it seems . . . don't forget the IRS ran a brother for a number of years.

There is a cost benefit analysis involved. . .
At first an escort or prostitute is cheaper than a GF/wife in terms of money and time invested. But over time, the opportunity cost of a prostitute far exceeds the cost for the steady sex offererd by a GF/wife . . . Although, the mental investment and possible emotional cost through bad drama is much lower with the proffessional sex-giver. . . Hrmm . . I guess the limiting income is money. Can you afford steady sex with a Pro. I imagine thats why many young millionaire playboys don't get married. They can afford the proffessional service and take advantage of that. |

Just some more food for thought. Not all escorts provide sex, or anything sexual for that matter. A lot of times it's dinner dates with execs.
